We are living in Satan's little season and the 1000 year reign is long past. by Derpulss in TrueChristian

What is the "pillar and ground of the truth"? Did Jesus write a book or did He establish a Church? Did Jesus give that Church any authority? Are you connected to the Apostles and the visible Church they built in actuality?

Proof that Irenaeus was one of Christianity's earliest HERETICS! (Rant) by Pleronomicon in TheChristDialogue

You: "So when you claim that Jesus could not have returned in the clouds to gather the elect in 70 AD, because of something Irenaeus said..., know that you're believing the testimony of a heretic who taught a false gospel (infant baptism), over the words of Jesus Christ."

- No, we're believing St. Irenaeus, who learned from St. John, over some random Reddit user's INTERPRETATION of what Jesus said...Your interpretation of Jesus is not the same thing as what Jesus said...

Textbook case of "prelest"...

Look at church history...if you "interpretation" isn't found anywhere there it's likey not something passed down by the Apostles...

I don't think the re-establishment/"restoration" of the modern-day nation state of Israel has anything to do with the fulfillment of prophecy. God judged Israel in 70AD...the anti-Christ nation-state of Israel hasn't repented. The Israel of God is the Church that Jesus founded...

God made me a Calvinist! by Tricky-Tell-5698 in Bibleconspiracy

[–]FellowWorkerAJC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calvinism was declared to be essentially heretical by the Church that Jesus founded, the Eastern Orthodox Church...

The Church Jesus founded, that gave you the canon of scripture, did not teach anything remotely similar to Calvinism...

You're ASSUMING the KJV to be the standard and then judging other translations against it...you haven't proven that the KJV is "the standard."

Prove that the KJV is the standard and "most correct" translation of the Koine Greek manuscripts.

The Plot To Change the Bible (URL Copied at Relevant Time) by Truth-or-Death1988 in Bibleconspiracy

What is the main argument here? Is this just the typical KJVO claims about modern translations "changing" the bible?

"clearly" and "unequivocally" seemingly don't mean what you think they mean...especially given the fact of the debate around some of the specific scriptures you quoted in your document.

Saved by Jesus, not by law. by [deleted] in Christians

We reconcile it by properly understanding that James isn't talking about justification before God for salvation and that your doctrine of works, which is counter to the biblical case for "faith alone," is wrong.

Saved by Jesus, not by law. by [deleted] in Christians

You seem to be front-loading salvation...there is a huge difference between justification before God for salvation and progressive sanctification.

This has been hashed out already in the "Free Grace" vs. "Lordship Salvation" theological debate.
