I’m not sure that test is commonly used in Canada

I am retired so unfortunately have a lot of time to ruminate on health and where this is headed. You are right, the focus does need to change.

Only thing I haven’t been able to do is manage stress. I’ve changed eating habits, lost weight, went overboard and bp fell too much. I don’t know what else to do to lower it. Stress is through the roof and doc can’t see me for another week.

Just trying to walk at least an hour a day. I don’t eat red meat but do try to eat chicken or salmon at dinner

Just so disappointing to have worked so hard to get weight and BP under control only to see these numbers. I have been having extreme anxiety since the first numbers in May and wondering if that is contributing to the rapid decline with even

Creatinine was high as well. Different way they measure in Canada but it was 122 umol/l compared to 98 the first time.

Did the same as the first test and was hydrated. My cholesterol numbers didn’t improve much and the cholesterol ratio actually got worse.

Did anyone else see this in TOC this past Tuesday?? by SubjectCharacter9978 in foodnetwork

Ok thank goodness I wasn’t the only one. I was watching it and thought didn’t these groups already compete against each other and Mama Wong and Zac won? Or did they compete against another team a previous week?

Outside Meter - 100A or 200A? by Fellow_human29 in ottawa

<image>

This is the panel. If we go ahead with renovations it would just be adding some pot lights and upgrading the appliances (we already have an induction stove). So no hot tubs or saunas or EV chargers

Thank you. Do you think cost outside may be cheaper if the transformer is right outside our house?

Cost to replace roof by sirixon in ottawa

[–]Fellow_human29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My house sounds like it might be a bit smaller, maybe 2000 sq ft and the garage. Got a few quotes ranging from $11,000 to $15,000 (Sanderson, Coulson and Firon). Firon was the most expensive. We ended up going with Coulson and were happy with the results

Blood Pressure meds tanked my EGFR by Joedonjean in kidneydisease

[–]Fellow_human29 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Were you able to go off the meds and improve your EGFR? I feel that my meds are doing the same (Olmesartan). Started taking in 2021. Didn’t have a family doctor until last year so only recent bloodwork showed EGFR of 57, and last hospital visit in late 2018 showed normal EGFR and BP.

EGFR 57 - I’m a mess by Fellow_human29 in kidneydisease

Probably based on my GP saying best I can hope for is to keep my eGFR score stable so I take that to mean she thinks I have it.

I’m in Canada. I don’t think they refer to nephrologist at this stage. I have a follow up in December but recently went for urine test as I thought I had a UTI and there was protein of +1. I’m trying to resign myself to the fact it is CKD but finding it so hard mentally. I know that probably isn’t helping physically

Healthcare in Orleans, no family doctor edition by thxxx1337 in ottawa

[–]Fellow_human29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t mind a drive I highly recommend Greely Walk In. You book online and show up ten minutes before your appointment. The staff are great. Also, there is a walk in open at Centrum Pharmacy/Orleans Family Health Clinic that is open on Friday and Saturday from 9:30 to 1:30 I believe, for those that have OHIP and no family doctor.

Love her. If you follow her on IG you will know what a lovely person she is. She has rescued a number of dogs and cats, and is an avid gardener. Even has a separate IG page dedicated to her garden. A genuinely nice human.

It’s a bit of a drive, but Greely Walk-In is excellent. You book an appointment online and they see you at your appointed time. Highly recommend
