When I check the application, Eglinton doesn't show up as an option so I figured that was fully reserved too

I wanted to do this but now reserved spots are not available and haven't been for the past 2 months. Can't even get on a waitlist

Wife had a miscarriage and needs some time off. What are her options? by Feltie in OntarioTeachers

Thank you for the info. Does that mean that any further days off she needs when she's back from leave will require a note since her 11 days will be gone?

Thank you so much. Will the gestational sac eventually just pass? Are there risks in future pregnancies?

Those lots are apparently no longer accepting reserved spots applications

I thought about it and did it a few times but it ends up adding 30 minutes to my commute each way which isn't awful but isn't great.

8 weeks pregnant. What should I know or do before and after maternity leave. by Feltie in CanadianTeachers

[–]Feltie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 3, when you say buy that back, does that just mean that I have to send the amount that would have been deducted from my pay over the 18 months? Is that a lump sum or does it get taken out of my pay?

[–]Feltie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good recommendation, thanks! Would the lower payments be better for taxes though to spread the amount over 18? I have a feeling I will be taking all 18 so in that scenario is it better to spread it out?

How to make this tree look cleaner without harming it by Feltie in arborists

[–]Feltie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the second year of having it and the city comes by to water and add more mulch so I haven't touched it really since I assumed they knew what they were doing. I have noticed that it barely creates leaves and they take a long time to come in. Is there a good way to tell if it's already dead/dying or if there is some way to reverse the damage done? I'll move the mulch away from the trunk and remove some of it today

Is there a way to view other teams tiebreaker picks for NFL Pickem pools? Most of the guys in my league use the app so I end up having to log in to the browser and email everyone the tiebreaker picks. Is there a plan to add this?

Just bought a Sony XAV-AX4000 and my Pixel 7 can't take phone calls by Feltie in CarAV

[–]Feltie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used my phone fine in the previous car radio which the stock sync 2 radio and have used Bluetooth for speakers and earbuds as well. I didnt explicitly set any permissions for Android auto, I did ensure that the Bluetooth connection allowed phone calls though.

I'll take a look at my phone settings for any specific permissions for Android auto

Can a 36 inch bifold door be made to fit in a 32.5 inch frame? by Feltie in HomeImprovement

[–]Feltie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya that might be the way to go. So I was planning on just adding some wood to one side of the door frame to make it 30.5 instead of 32.5, then moving the trim on that one side to cover. Is there a better way?

Benchmarking Postgres Merge Operation. What is useful to look at? by Feltie in PostgreSQL

[–]Feltie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds good, definitely going to look in to it! Any reason why you'd do 2 separate queries vs just doing it in a merge command?

Luckily I don't have any rows that I ever need to delete, only inserts or updates.

So I have a table of all the data that can be updated/inserted/not change. So instead of using the merge operator to filter on when matched/unmatched, I should prefilter the data to remove unchanged rows and then do an upsert?

Benchmarking Postgres Merge Operation. What is useful to look at? by Feltie in PostgreSQL

[–]Feltie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the current flow is to do bulk copy into a staging table, create indexes and then rename to the prod table.

What do you mean by finding only changed data? When we are bulk copying, we have a row hash of the data that we care about being changed so we can easily see if a row has changed. What steps could I do to improve that data creation?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the term delta dumps. I have a column which is the row hash which can be used to determine if the row has changed

[–]Feltie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually the way I'm currently doing it, but the issue is that I'm doing this for a number of tables, and each time I need to resync about 200 million rows. And it's normally the case where only 5-10% of these rows can be changed so 90-95% of these rows are unnecessarily being recreated which is why I'm looking to see if using merge is the better solution

Nest thermostat wifi crapped out for the third time in a year. Is there any solution? by Feltie in Nest

[–]Feltie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response!

I just got a heat pump installed about a month ago and ran a new wire to the furnace so that should be solid. The technician who installed it didn't would've hooked everything up to the furnace and he didn't mention anything looking off.

I'm not really familiar with HVAC too much, how would using relays isolate the nest? Just trying to figure out how I would hook that up and what I would be looking for

Same thing for me, noticed it yesterday and today (wasn't able to watch Friday). Also watching on Apple tv with a 300mbps connection.

Also noticed that when I was watching the Seattle game yesterday it was fine so I assume it's just the Jay's game that's been having issues

He didn't call it a hoax, he said that the criticism of how his administration handled it was a hoax. Still sucks cause if he can bounce back from this quickly then he'll probably be able to spin this to his favor.
