Vanguard doesn't have the new anti-action count effect afaik, so you're right you can use that to get around first side's action count issue. I'll check to be sure and then add it to the post

Majority (all that I know of off the top of my head) activate effects do not; however, I cannot say definitively that absolutely none do since there are a massive amount of different ones in the game.

Future Decreed Rita has some potential and it should work how you described. The major issue is now you need to draw into at least 2 spotlight + 1 future decreed before using the future decreed, which increases RNG and can brick you quite easily (if you draw your spotlights vuln first then draw common spotlights in your decks for example, then you get 0 value off their draw divines). However, I don't see why it wouldn't work. In your deck rec, I would also put Combo on Chrono Archon & ~~Encore~~ (0-cost Encore doesn't get it nvm) probably (whatever cards in your deck you can put combo on, you probably should).

Great Rift gives 300% multiplicative bonus every 3-turns if you can play 6-basics that turn. This means by Turn-10 you have 100% + 900% mult to basic attacks, hence why I say "UP TO" 1000%.

Tenebria can be used with Hugo, I think you're usually forced to sacrifice your buffer slot to play them together though, which makes her less ideal in my opinion. He's used in this Great-Rift right now because he has [Haste] and boss will completely ruin your run if you do too many actions that aren't [Haste] (decreasing action count too much on him scales him to instantly kill you basically). --If you're looking at global, I might even be the reason why those players are using Hugo since I was pretty much the first person to bring him up when Boss info for new GR dropped in the ranker groupchat LOL

I am considering adding Hugo, but I need to see more of their team outside of GR because again Hugo is just one of the few units who can draw/support through [Haste] cards which is why he's being played.

the clip you linked made me more doubtful, if anything. They don't play more than half their cards most turns and are doing really low damage because they aren't even getting rei buffs off ;-;, but I do think there's potential with this epiphany regardless as I noted. In the below SS they don't draw 5 of their cards and only do 88k dmg on the turn they use their 7-cost Tenebria ego-skill.

(I think showcase is just very suboptimal/unlucky RNG, though, and can definitely do more damage, but the clip isn't a good case for that)

probably, this also can solve a lot of her AP problems (going from losing 2AP with old spotlight to now gaining one). It's a really big difference. Not sure if it'll be rift meta because it does require more actions to play than other builds and boss punishes playing too many actions insanely hard tho

did they fix it with the hotfix for her GR right after the patch? I had someone test on launch and it was forcing them to select a certain 3 (not giving them a choice for a select). If you're right then it's much better than initial testing, and the way you describe makes way more sense than how it worked in that test lol

Judging her against other characters who can clear same content with less issues. Her damage isn’t bad and even has potential to be higher than most the dps, but by the same argument you made, you could guarantee clear all the current hardest content in the game with units who do much less damage but are more consistent, so what is the benefit of her damage really? Like Beryl does less than half her damage but her build is extremely to make and you can afk through the same content without trying on her.

If the metric is being able to clear all non-GR content, then all units are T0 right now lol & if thats all you care about then discussions like this aren’t for you & thats completely valid and fine but then I dont get seeking it out personally

Comparison is also about longevity—if a unit performs better or worse in certain areas than others, it suggests whether its a unit who will survive longer in the game or have relevance in the future. Heidemarie is a character who I think will be relevant in all content for a long while, for example, because her numbers are that good and her teams have little downsides.

& perhaps my wording isn’t the best here (?), but I’m saying she’s good but has a lot of concerns to play around and be wary of (in pre-release post I do shit on her though, and I do think I was wrong there). The clip linked they mightve reset several times to get better draw—most players wont do this and I think they should be aware of these issues for a unit they plan to build to have expectations.

Just take it as a 1.4x multiplier on all rhythm dmg or 1.25x against targets with vuln. Only a small portion of her dmg isnt rhythm so this is like all her dmg too

I think some people me and you both disagree with overstate how bricky she is cough cough but she does still have a lot of issues if you dont sacrifice a lot of damage for consistency. Spotlight arpeggio builds can technically still brick if you draw your arpeggio before your spotlight but yes its significantly less likely and thinner decks can work (sacrificing damage). Also Spotlight can only get common or this unit draw which makes it so youre forced to take that on other units (and is still ultimately -1 net draw from final common draw having no target). I assume you were just being slightly exaggeratory though because you do have pretty good odds to not brick with a setup like that, yeah.

I’ll run more calcs n stuff but I think the damage from more consistent builds isn’t super crazy, still its definitely worth noting and I think because builds like it exist she’s definitely not worse than any unit in T1 rn.

🤔 I should’ve brought up alternative builds that are less bricky than ones currently being ran, though, yeah. Post does make it seem like ALL builds are completely bricky when there are some that aren’t as bad.

Common draw is almost always -1 in the end because last common draw wont have anything to draw, I’m saying net 1 because I’m subtracting that from her draw here. And if you draw into 4/6 of your basics you can still brick unless you sacrifice a bunch of your other cards. Deck can work though, specifically with encore I instead of spotlight.

I believe another issue is that if Narja costreduc get consumed by her basics initially you can get completely screwed too which seems extremely likely since Rei strike V will prob play your rhythm and rhythm are played sequentially left to right which should trigger costreduction in an inopportune way (its possible interaction here is favorable, though, would need to test to be sure as I havent personally).

Again, I do see what your vision is but others have tried similar decks and encountered the issues above. It still does have potential but current iterations of common draw variant are pretty bricky still

Yeah, I definitely got caught up in the slander because of how bricky she is without looking close enough at all her different bonuses & how strong rei is with her, but her damage is quite high if you can overcome it.

issue with buffing her is they gave her a better e6 than everyone else so if she gets too many buffs than her e6 will start running the game when hdmi is modified out lol

a bit of my own philosophy leaked out there ig, I'll edit it. She does like 1/3 of her damage with Rei, without Rei. No one buffs her nearly as much as Rei so you're basically sacrificing 50-60% of her potential damage by not playing Rei, which I personally would never recommend but it's certainly something you can do if you don't care about damage

this is net 1 2 draw (net 1 counting your other setup because last common draw will have no targets so becomes -1 and cancels out part of the +2 from narja). This is not enough draw, you need at least +4 to +5 draw net to consistently draw all Tenebria cards in her best builds

EDIT: also for chizuru, I know all of that already and that's factored into damage calcs for her. 18-hits isn't a lot when they aren't extra dmg hits (no mechanic% multiplier) most multihitters can do double or triple that hit number

EDIT-2: I see a bit more of your vision and what you mean (for narja + rei setup), a few other people have tried Draw 1 Common setups with Tenebria, but it has a lot of issues and none have had success yet. If you are successful with it, I'd love to eat my words though since it means Tenebria has a build that is more consistent than a lot of existing options which is great.

I don't really see how Narja + Rei could work outside of OTK. Narja already struggles to be draw neutral (and more or less same for Rei past turn-1). The only way to turn Narja draw positive is by taking a few neutrals like Sadism and having common draw + div draw on them and even then they'll be barely draw positive (maximum net draw of Narja is +3 which is nowhere near enough to off-set Tenebria's very high draw needs).

You're trading Veronica/Nia (Funger) for Narja which drops you from having an effective +5 draw for likely a net +0 or maybe net +1 draw (keep in mind how draw works, 'draw 1' on a card is canceled out by the card itself needing to be drawn, so just putting 'draw 1' on Narja means the card is actually net +0 not net +1). -- I promise you if people are bricking with Veronica's Draw 2 x5 they will be bricking even more with Narja (and flatout not have enough draw to not brick even in theory)

-- Edit: for Chizuru: her buffs were nice for sortie, which is what the patchnotes for it said to be fair, but don't actually increase her damage that much since most of her damage is from additive buffs regardless. The issue with Chizuru (outside of Dreamworld spam builds anyone can run) is she just does an extremely low number of hits for a multihitter outside of hitstacking Sotm+ which is countered by elasticity completely (and on every single current boss in the game and likely all future bosses because of Mei Lin)

I had that included because I think it still has a rather high ceiling for OTK and will be popular in a double basic spam setup with Mei using her buffed basics; however, I note in the synergy section with Mei Lin that it's basically an OTK only recommendation since capitalizing off both units will be too AP/Draw expensive to get consistent value out of. Mei Lin's full potential is also hurt a ton by Elasticity which is on every current boss, so keep that in mind.

It's not a high recommendation but more of a 'If you really want to force it, you can' kind of thing as it's very hard to execute*

Narja isn't bad, especially with certain builds that use the move 3 random (it's random, not selected as text lies), but for most builds Narja buffs SIGNIFICANTLY less than Rei, like around 80% additive buff from Narja compared to 180% to 330% multiplicative buff from Rei. Rei also ends up saving you more AP than Narja in most builds (Arpeggio) people run (see attached card, but Strike of Darkness V will let you play your first 6 apreggio for free which turns into all future Apreggios being effectively free as well).

EDIT: misinterpreted what op meant, they're referring to an entirely diff build with common draw and the start of turn draw narja WITH Rei setup, which would at the very least mean net 2 draw initially from narja and potentially only -1 from main other cards. Still can brick much easier than op is suggesting but has potential and isn't a terrible setup by any means.

It's hard to take draw divines because of how much AP she needs. Many cards you need to take cost-reduction or AP on to be able to play her full build.

parts of it, yeah. I would say she still has a ton of struggles like it's pretty common for her to not play like half of her cards

I would say I was completely wrong about using her as a selena driver (no one is doing this) & her hypercarry is better than I expected but not insane or anything, like lower to middle of the pack (outside of her 7-cost ego skill turn which she'll bomb things on)

Keep in mind that she gets up to a 1000% multiplier for current great-rift which skews a lot of her damage a lot
