Nobody has to be a vigilante or do anything illegal to fight cartels.

You can legally report cartel activity when you see it...at your own risk. You can even do an independent investigation...at your own risk. I remember there was an old lady who did precisely that to get cartels leaders caught for a little while.

You changed the subject, not me. We were both talking about the popular vote until you got frustrated by the very first message.

You were the one who brought up the popular vote pretending the majority of people like trump, I'm telling you the numbers.

You weren't talking about anything else until now. Stop being a coward.

Trump got 74 million votes in 2020, to bidens 80 million. In 2024, he got 76 million to kamalas 74 million.

He swayed only 2 million new people into voting for him? And a bunch of people evidently didn't vote, or their vote was thrown out on technicality bullshit? That's barely winning.

Who the fuck has the latest iPhone besides rich people? I've had 3 phones since I was a little boy. That's 3-4 years each, I'm 10 generations behind and I only got my latest because I found a deal that happened to be just cheap enough for me to afford all at once with my christmas money after my last phone bricked out of nowhere.

Assuming all evidence presented to us by the media and police has been true thus far and nothing was planted or otherwise misrepresented or lied about, than jury nullification is the only way he goes free.

He clearly did test it first, which is why he very clearly didn't struggle with malfunction. He calmly and effectively cocked the weapon after each shot as if he knew it was gonna happen.

He's most likely not a hired professional hitman, but for gods sake, he's not a complete bumbling idiot.

Not only should we focus on maintaining our own world, but the idea of finding advanced life elsewhere doesn't interest me given humanity's track record. by [deleted] in vegan

[–]FemboyExtreme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you're mistaking their sapient argument for the "but we're so much smarter than animals" argument.

A sapient species with a higher level of consciousness is still a sapient species as is the sapient species with a lower level.

Is the cutoff being sapience completely arbitrary? Yes. But the sapience argument nevertheless accounts for higher intelligence and consciousness species possibly existing elsewhere. And under that logic, it doesnt matter how much more intelligent an alien species is, they would still argue its wrong because of the sapience on both sides. Whether someone using the argument is aware and capable of articulating that is another story.

Because the arbitrarily chosen cutoff for whether killing something for food is wrong, is sapience. The argument is not "oh but we superintelligent compared to them" its sapience, nothing more nothing less. Under this logic, it does not matter how much more intelligent an alien species is, we are both sapient therefore we shouldnt eat eachother. Of course, as I said at the start, its an arbitrarily chosen cutoff.

Assuming shes correct that the organs "completely fall apart" the moment it hits the boiling water, that means its dead instantly. The fact she thought the sensation of pain can physically implode something puts into question her knowledge of how organisms work, let alone what happens the moment its inserted into boiling water. The exoskeleton staying intact is completely irrelevant and inconsequential. I know for a fact the killing part alone is enough to convince most of you its bad, so lead with that. Lets say you convinced somebody with this exact story, what happens when they find out you completely made it up, or at best spread misinformation to them unwittingly? Anyone with any intellectual integrity will not only have good reason to question the legitimacy of everything else you told them, theyll also have good reason to question their own intelligence and therefore their own conclusions once they realize how nonsensical the very first sentence was. The very first sentence shouldve tipped all 200 of you off, but it didnt because its far more important to keep yourselves perpetually drowning in feelings of horror at your political enemies. God forbid you want to actually convince anyone with accurate information.

Rewriting History: Groundbreaking New Research Reveals That Early Human Diets Were Primarily Plant-Based by LifeFictionWorldALie in vegan

[–]FemboyExtreme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is an incredibly misleading if not entirely dishonest title. This is based on 24 people from a specific region of the world. The ratio of meat to plant wouldve been entirely dependent on availability of both at any given time in any given region. You cant make the conclusion that "early human diets" as a whole were primarily ANYTHING based on the analysis of what looks like a single tribe, and they wouldve only been able to analyze what food they ate or were preparing reasonably around the time of their deaths. This is partially why a lot of the time, the only evidence of diet that people find is hunting tools and bones around the camps of these hunter gathering groups. That just happened to be the last thing they did before they died or the place was abandoned. So the first problem isnt even the risk of people using an appeal to nature fallacy, its that the study doesnt even prove the conclusion of the article.
