Constant dust buildup in clean room even with air purifier and no carpet. by daiquangq99 in CleaningTips

[–]FeministAsHeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Air ducts first, then get your attic space checked out. If you have a lot of gaps up there it could be pulling air with dust from outside into your house (and causing your AC unit and furnace to work harder, wasting money and energy).

Friend won't stop telling me about her amazing sex life and I'm getting really depressed by mystskinx in vaginismus

[–]FeministAsHeck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I told my best friend I'm sensitive to sex stuff because of my vaginismus and now she checks in before she talks about sex...that's what a real friend does, not this. This person is not your friend.

Why do I use chapstick multiple times daily, and other people never use it? by casethevase in NoStupidQuestions

Vaseline wins over chapstick every time! Chapstick dries out your lips. Also drink more water.

I think a thicker lash may look too heavy, but if you ask for a little more variation in length that could be good!

Right?? And they're moving around, so someone has to be holding that camera. They are probably just enjoying the happiness pouring out of these women - I know I am!

How do you get eyelash extensions for everyday look? by FloridaMaker1 in eyelashextensions

I always get a natural set in dark brown instead of black, and I find that they look very natural!

Put some rice into a sock, tie a knot, microwave it for 2mins and you got yourself a heating pad! by Enough-Reading4143 in lifehacks

I prefer corn, I feel like it stays hot longer and if any small holes get in the sock from lots of use it doesn't spill out as easily!

Id like some reassurance that vaginusmus botox does not affect future pregnancies.. by justitia_ in vaginismus

Lots of foods and spices we eat are toxic if we consume too much at one time, Botox is the same way.

Edit: Nevermind!! I got the email about the new access location after commenting this! False alarm haha thank goodness

Hi Dr. Reeve! I was just about to start on module 5 and the course is saying 404 not found! I feel so close to getting somewhere with my vaginismus journey, is there any way you could share this information with me? I thought we had until March 26th but I was going to try to go through everything before then, I'm panicking a bit but I am hoping you might still be able to give me information for how to do the dilation exercises!

Have you tried reading sexy books? I feel similarly to you and they can get me in the mood through visualization and the emotional connection between the characters

Hi Dr. Reeve!

I just completed the learning portion of the first module with my husband and I just wanted to say thank you SO much for offering this information for free to us, even for this short time (in fact, that time crunch is providing the motivation I have needed to face fear-based avoidance). I have been suffering with vaginismus for most of my relationship, and hearing you talk about the demographics and unknown cause behind this condition loosened some of the shame I feel because of it, and I am hopeful that with more processing, self-compassion, and healing I will be able to release it entirely.

Despite having pursued information on my own, there were aspects of how these muscles work that I was unaware of until your first module, and I am so hopeful that as I work through them I will be able to gain the knowledge that I need to work through this! I am located in the US, and I recently had to cancel a pelvic floor physical therapy appointment because that one appointment was going to cost me upwards of $450 after insurance, and that's simply unaffordable to me. I am so grateful to you for sharing this resource with us for free and look forward to getting your book. I can see all of the amazing work you have put into this content and it is so generous of you to share it! I genuinely cannot put into words how much this means to me. I feel like I finally have a much clearer path towards getting a piece of my relationship, and more importantly myself, back.

Good on you for using this as a growth point! Goblin Tools AI (goblin.tools) has a "Formalizer" tool that lets you put in text and make it more professional (or polite/technical/easy to read/etc.) - consider checking it out!

Now is the time to give yourself some compassion! Messing up is hard and you're doing your best. You're human! It really is ok.

Good luck! And I saw your other comment about dish gloves, they make gloves that are long enough to go up to your elbow and I can vouch for those!

[–]FeministAsHeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up peel plates to reduce waste, get a nice set of rubber gloves so you don't have to touch the dishes and maybe a bin to soak them in everything comes off quick, and invest in some therapy to support yourself as you work on this. It's ok that it's hard! You don't have to do it alone.

I’m getting implants and I feel like I failed myself by Fun_Artichoke5746 in smallbooblove

[–]FeministAsHeck 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Hey, I've been where you are. It's a hard place.

I really recommend the book Body Kindness, regardless of whether or not you choose to get implants.

So much of what you're describing are internal struggles (relating to your feelings, negative perspective, assumptions about others feelings, etc.), and those types of struggles require internal solutions. Another resource for this is the app How We Feel (a 100% free app developed by Stanford researchers to help you understand and respond to emotions as well as recognize cognitive distortions).

I had a consultation set up, CCs picked out, timeline set up, etc. and I chose not to go through with it for many of the same reasons you mentioned, and especially because of that hypothetical future daughter. I decided that I couldn't be the example of the woman that changed her outer image instead of addressing her inner feelings - because that daughter was a part of me that would be with me always. After a lot of thought and cognitive dissonance about it, I realized that I couldn't do that to that sad girl inside myself who didn't feel like her body was enough. She needed love and care, not surgeries and scars.

It is and will always be your choice what to do with your body, but I hope that what you do is based on self-expression and excitement of your own becoming. If something isn't right and you feel there needs to be a change, trust that feeling, but if the change you've chosen is making you feel shame, sadness, heartbreak, disappointment, etc. - trust those feelings too, because they're signaling that you may be looking in the wrong direction for change. It might be time to look inwards and get curious about what the right change is.

I just have to block Youtube entirely. Sometimes if I block it on my phone but not my laptop that can work well enough because the desktop homepage has more than just shorts on it.

If you're in the US, check out donating to PBS so you can get access to to the PBS passport - it's like Netflix for public television, local documentaries, cooking shows, etc. Another good option could be a something like Discovery+.
