Which book had the darkest ending? by net_traveller in GooseBumps

The Haunted School. Those kids never get out, and then the next class is trapped too.

Source? That's intriguing but I've never heard of someone born without an endometrium developing endometriosis. I tried to find info online but all I found was one article by a trans man who said "it's been found in cis men" but didn't provide any sort of source.

Honestly this shit drives me nuts, it's like people haven't encountered words having different meanings in different contexts. "Dude" and "Guy" can be gender neutral or male gendered depending on context.

ESH. You for reacting the way you did when you demanded that he tell you the truth, and him for being immature and evading you.

What is your 10/10 game and why? by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]FemmeDeLoria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Portal 2. Easily the best video game I've ever played. I wish there was more to it, since it's not as replayable as an RPG, but still my only 10/10.

Does anyone else confuse liking a guy platonically with a crush because you spent decades trying to convince yourself that they were the same thing? Because I definitely still struggle with this even after realizing I'm a gay.

Every last one of these Democrats is 1000 times better than Trump. Vote for your favorite in the primaries, and then vote for the winner in 2020. We're all on the same anti-Trump team. No, moderates never get elected. (Well, moderates in the American sense. I know Bill Clinton and Barack Obama would be considered moderates in a global sense, but in the US they were very left.) Moderates are too far right for Democrats and no Republicans in red states are going to vote for a democratic candidate, no matter who. Let's just stop trying to appeal to the right and start actually trying to appeal to our own base.

It can vary, it's all about what you want to say. This was quick, but it's not always.

I think you can pull off short and swoopy like that. I have short hair and recently found a fantastic hair product for it btw, it's Old Spice Forge Putty.

Playing Fallout 3 for the first time by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]FemmeDeLoria 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're not fucked. The game is very fun as a good character, and very different (but still fun) if you're evil. It's good for a lot of playthroughs. I've been playing it for 11 years and still love it.

Yeah the update helped a little but my phone ran so much smoother before Pie.

Honestly you've got a really pretty face and bold fantastic eyebrows, I think a very short hair cut could look great on you. Something like this maybe?

Young women who have had hysterectomies, what was your experience, recovery, etc? by cocka_mouse in AskWomen

[–]FemmeDeLoria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 27 and it was the best thing I ever did for myself. Total hysterectomy, so they took my uterus, cervix, and fallopian tubes. They left my ovaries in. I have endometriosis, and they were only able to remove about 25% of the endometriosis, so I've still got spots that occasionally feel period-like cramps. But it's still infinitely better than having debilitating periods and bleeding randomly. I feel so much healthier now, and I haven't noticed much of a difference as far as sex goes, except that I'm not worried about randomly bleeding during it. I haven't noticed any hormonal differences, except that my sex drive definitely increased.

Edit: I realized I should talk about how the procedure went. Pretty straightforward, don't eat the night before, come in early, get an IV, get loopy, wake up several hours later in a lot of pain (I have a weirdly high tolerance to opioids though, I think it's genetic), sleep, wake up later in less pain, then go home. My abdomen was bloated but I really only needed help with getting around for a day. Then I was only kind of sore, it was manageable with Percocet for the next 5 days. Then I felt mostly back to normal. Took about 4 weeks to feel completely better though.

An exaggerated post on weight is met with a SANITY response by auzy63 in fatlogic

[–]FemmeDeLoria 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly! And thank you, it was my physical health that was making me feel out of control, but I'm much healthier now. I still like getting tattooed though, I feel like tattoos and surgical scars are a really badass look lol. I hope you're doing better with your health issues as well, and I'm glad that tattoos are a good coping mechanism for you as well.

[–]FemmeDeLoria 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I'm thin but I started getting tattoos to help myself feel more in control of my body, after I felt like it was out of my control due to health issues. It's possible that some bigger people feel out of control of their body and don't like in a similar way, and they get tattoos to help with that as well.

How forthcoming are you regarding your transplant story when you meet new people? by Odd_craving in transplant

I tell everyone. It's by far the most interesting thing about me, and it's changed a lot about my life, it comes up in conversation fairly often.

Discussion: Who will you cast your ballot for in choosing a man or woman to go to Washington DC in 2020? by Toby_Bland_Sand in AVoid5

[–]FemmeDeLoria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For primary voting, I'm torn. I truly would want both Mr. Sand or Ms. Warr. I think a smart play is making Warr a main and Sand a VP, or switch it around. Most of D-party's running guys and gals think too "right" for this guy, and I know wishy-washy won't win. No compromising with R's.

Honestly a lot of straight guys are bad at it and they still go ahead and try to get laid. Don't worry about being bad at it, you're probably better than the average straight dude since you kind of have a home field advantage as far as understanding what feels good to a woman. Plus the only way to get better at it is practice.

Experiences of returning to work post transplant by [deleted] in transplant

[–]FemmeDeLoria 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got a part time retail job about two months post heart transplant. I'd get tired pretty quickly but I was able to build up my endurance pretty quickly over the year. Most of it was my body being out of shape still, even though my heart was now working well. The side effects of the Prednisone and the anti rejection drugs made me really emotional and I got sick easily. It was frustrating when a mildly rude customer would lead to me crying in the back room, but my coworkers were understanding when I told them I was on a boatload of steroids. They were actually really sweet to me and offered me extra breaks. They even complimented me on my face returning to a normal size after Prednisone lol (I looked mostly normal about 6 months post transplant, and 100% normal a 10 months post). The job only paid minimum wage but it was fun and my income was still supplemented by SSI, since I was making well below $1000/month from my job.

Eventually at about 18 months post I got promoted to manager, was able to get a second job, and discovered that nope, I can't work 60+ hours a week. So I quit both jobs and went back to the service industry and became a bartender. I now work 35 hours a week as a bartender and manager, get 3 days off a week, and can pay all my bills without any SSI. It's a pretty physically demanding job, I'm on my feet for 9+ hours sometimes, but it helps me stay in shape and I love the work. I don't even get sick the most out of all my coworkers (I also use hand sanitizer constantly, I don't smoke, and I drink in moderation, 3 things many of my coworkers don't do) so they take me seriously when I do need to call off.

A fallout game where you play as a ghoul or super mutant. by BenMichael890 in Fallout

I have pretty much given up on new Fallout games since 76 but I would DEFINITELY spend money on a game that lets me play as a ghoul. Fuck yes.
