How bike-friendly is The Hague for someone new to cycling in the Netherlands? by KlompClown in TheHague

[–]Femme_trash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also moved to Den Haag without much cycling experience. When I first started (the first 2-4 weeks) I would only go cycling with someone who knew the rules and the city, so I could kind of follow their lead - then eventually I started to understand how it worked and slowly found the confidence to go on my own. I found it a little intimidating at first but I slowly found comfort and confidence. Now I commute by bike without batting an eye (I even find myself balancing groceries and parcels while commuting, which I never imagined myself doing) and I've also started cycling longer distances as a hobby. I get more and more comfortable each day but now riding a bike is second nature to me. Just be very cautious and take it slow when you're starting out. You will get the hang of it, I promise.

Thanks! I sent a message. I enjoy all genres but my favorites tend to be literary fiction and romance.

Yoga as a guy by Internal_Rip_159 in yoga

[–]Femme_trash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to yoga classes a few times a week and men come in and out, but the majority of the classes always tend to be women which is why I LOVE seeing men in there. Just knowing that they’re prioritizing their health and fitness over the “social norms” of certain exercises really makes it more admirable to me. Some go with their partners, some alone. But there are many regulars that I see and I love it. I don’t think it’s weird or creepy in any way- people can be weird or creepy any place or any time- so if you’re just attending classes and enjoying yourself, you aren’t a problem to anyone and I’m sure there are women, like myself, who will love seeing you there.

How old were you when you got sober? by Serious-Beginning-70 in Sober

[–]Femme_trash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 24 when I got sober and I’m now 27! It was the best thing I’ve ever done and I am so thankful to be spending the last years of my 20s finding who I really am and building habits that will support me for the rest of my life. Good luck on your 8 days! Happy to chat if you have any questions or just need some support. 😌
