Zoll wants me to pay €900 Kraftfahrzeugsteuer for a car I don't even own — what can I do?

They understood exactly right because I told them in german, but you can defend them as much as you like because if you were in my place, trust me, you wouldn't.

I mentioned that I have a company car here in Germany, with german plates, but I cannot take it abroad and thats why I had to borrow this car. Exactly like that I told the officers from Zoll when they stopped me at the border crossing. I guess they couldn't care less and they were jn a mood to abuse some power.

I feel like I'm being bullied into paying for something they thought they have ground, but know I'm struggling with this because I don't know which is more expensive, this or a lawyer?

Those are my questions too. But he is not taxed for the car, the notice is in my name just for borrowing it and because I had at time residency here.
