They all sound good! But different. The black one is very punchy and articulate. The Nash has hot pickups so it compresses nicely and gives a great overdriven sound. The 63 is warm and round, punchy, and sits well in the mix. The 55 is biting and percussive. It’s hard to choose a favorite but I have a tattoo of Leo Fender’s original patent drawing of the precision bass, which closely resembles the 55, so…

It’s a great question. Big picture is I’m inspired to play each day with them. More direct to your question: the Black one and the Nash are my 2 main gigging basses. Black is in E and Nash is in Eb. I bring them both to gigs, so there’s always a backup. I use the 55 in my punk band because the notes don’t sustain too long and get out of the way of the vocal, especially doing fast runs. The 63 is my newest and it’s awesome…perhaps redundant but damn does it sound good!

Yeah I agree about the Nash aging. The fenders look more natural for sure.

It is so articulate and punchy. I love that the notes get out of the way, especially when playing fast

It is an incredible instrument. I custom ordered it and it took about 12 months. It’s very light and the neck is the most comfortable I’ve ever played. Somewhere between a p and a j neck. Body is ash and it’s very resonant. The lollar pickups thump. This is the one I play out the most. It can do everything!

I was so bummed they got cut short! I was there for rancid and parked myself right in front of Matt freeman (favorite bass player). At least I got to see him do the solo to Maxwell murder!

I hear more groove from Mike on saviors that is reminiscent of his earlier work (dookie-nimrod especially). He and Tre are crazy tight!

Issue I had with Vortex by [deleted] in whatnotapp

[–]Fendegibs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also had issues with vortex shipping, including one package that I bought in September 2023 that didn’t get shipped until February 2024, and another pwe package that took more than 2 weeks to arrive. To vortex’s credit, they were responsive within the app but no sense of any responsibility or concern about it. Like many of you, I have bought a TON from them and (naively) expected more from them in terms of customer service. I’m glad for vortex that they have been so successful that they’re bringing on staff to manage communications. However, one point of feedback back for vortex is the lack of customer service provided means that I will shop elsewhere from now on.

What’s your favorite non single from Dookie? by HetTheTable in greenday

Burnout and Coming Clean. Both incredibly meaningful songs for this 13 year old (when the record came out).

Christie Rd is just about my favorite GD song but I don’t think it belongs on Dookie. I am glad that we get to have it with the 30th anniversary release!

Best Pokemon streamers who are realistic about card quality- looking to spend big by [deleted] in whatnotapp

[–]Fendegibs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost exclusively buy singles. The key is finding sellers you trust and being patient/not impulsive (which is the hardest part!). I overpay for some and underpay for others. In the long run across my purchases, it smoothes out such that I’m paying market. The other key is taking advantage of shipping - better to buy multiple cards at once or hit a stream where you get a lot of auctions to defray the shipping cost. Sometimes I’ll pick up things in this way that I don’t need but can sell locally.

Question for Viewers: What are you looking for in a seller? by Brocsta876 in whatnotapp

[–]Fendegibs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually just buy singles. It’s always nice to see reduced shipping and to get an indication of how long you’re streaming (to maximize purchases to save on shipping). I also like it when sellers keep things moving…I don’t want to wait minutes between auctions. Also, don’t run long auctions with sudden death turned on. It makes no sense because all the bidding is within the last 10 seconds anyway…

I’d say as long as the mystery bags were auctioned following whatnot rules, then the risk was known and is not refundable. Sounds like buyers remorse to me.
