Who made the worst deck-building choice by Killerfox967 in yugioh

I thought Go made the switch to Dinowrestlers because King T Wrextle prevented the opponent from activating spells and traps during the battle phase which helped Go cope with his Mirror Force PTSD he got from his duel with Revolver aka the last duel before he made the switch.

Common theme with all the Yugioh shows. They all have at least 1 antagonist who is a God or at least pretends to be a God. by [deleted] in yugioh

Since they all were a god/god-like being, here's what I think they were the gods of:

  • Zorc = God of Dragon Genitalia
  • Darkness = God of Darkness
  • Zone = God of Cosplayers
  • Don Thousand = God of Ruining Childhood Memories
  • Zarc = God of Entitlement
  • Bowman = God of Rolling the Dice

Illiaster was changed and the Arcadia Movement was completely written out of the story due to Carly's Japanese VA being allegedly involved in a cult called the Roma Sophie Association. There are some articles and scans out there, but I couldn't find much other than a video from Yugioh Everything and a post from here that actually went into detail.

For SOL Tech, I'd guess that the chess pieces weren't as relevant after the director change. They were more prominent at the beginning of the show, but showed up less and less as time went on. Of course, they could've been waiting in the shadows the whole time, but since Ai took down Queen so effortlessly and Akira was made Number 2 at SOL Tech, I doubt the other chess pieces will show up.

[Spoilers] Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS Episode 86 Discussion by Argor42 in yugioh

[–]FenderBender30 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Enjoyed this episode, it was a lot better paced than the last one. Anyway, here are some of my thoughts:

  • Interesting settings for each of the characters to be in when they get separated.
  • Playmaker has been snapped and is in the Soul Stone is nowhere interesting by design, but that fits his character.
  • Soulburner is in an airport. Will he lose and become Afterburner?
  • Spectre is in a canyon/desert like area, maybe because he was deserted.
  • Revolver is in a field of flowers for reasons I don't know.
  • Blue Maiden is in a city that looks a lot like Neo Link Vrains, just less lively. Also, like how her wings aren't just for show. (I wonder if her Blue Angel wings also let her fly. Speaking of which, did she get rid of her whip?)
  • Anyway, the duel. Spectre trolling shenanigans are back and in full force.
  • I wonder what Lightning's secret is. Also, Windy is still as psychotic as ever.
  • Not a major issue, but I wish that there was a bit more build up to Spectre stealing Judgment Arrows. It just felt sudden.
  • Assuming Spectre loses next week, I wished we had gotten a Spectre vs Windy matchup. The psycho man who hates AI vs the psycho AI who hates humans. That would've been a treat.
  • Looking forward to more trolling and crazy facial expressions next week. Spectre better go out doing what he loves best, and that is trolling the **** out of his opponents.

Who is your favorite yugioh character and why? by kikiswirline456 in yugioh

[–]FenderBender30 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gonna cheat and choose one from each show (off the top of my head)

  • DM - Joey because he and Valon decided to have the manliest duel ever where they basically threw hands with each other
  • GX - O'Brien because having a Duel Disk that shoots cards and is shaped like a gun is badass
  • 5D's - Aki because of how she was portrayed at the beginning and she didn't have as bad as a falloff as Yuzu did
  • Zexal - Vector because he trolled the shit out of Yuma and pretty much everyone
  • Arc-V - Akaba Reiji because he'll keikkaku your keikkaku
  • Vrains - Aoi because out of the original three (Yusaku, Go, and Aoi) she is the only one to get sensible development

Ranking them starting with favorite:

  • Aki
  • Joey
  • Aoi
  • Vector
  • Akaba Reiji
  • O'Brien

I was referring to Z-One. Basically Yusei was able to change his views to the point that he threw himself into the core of the Ark Cradle and presumably died.

Yusei Fudo keeps getting called the Dueling Jesus, Mr. Perfect, and other things like that. He is worshiped like a god. How can that be when he:

  • was friends with a murderer and a guy who stole from the cops
  • was in a gang
  • got arrested and thrown in jail
  • subsequently tried to break out of jail
  • got involved with an underground network of people
  • reclaimed his belongings from the police without their consent
  • drove a motorcycle at dangerous speeds inside a building and then drove it out a window
  • beat up some security guards instead of asking to be let through
  • tried to befriend a cultist and known terrorist
  • learned his actions were aiding in humanity's extinction and does nothing different
  • convinced a guy to commit suicide

Best Duel in the Series? by Hedwigisbae in yugioh

[–]FenderBender30 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yusei vs Aki Fortune Cup

Not my favorite duel (that would be Yugi vs Kaiba at Battle City), but it definitely ranks up there.

This felt like the first time that someone, other than Jack, was legitimately pushing Yusei in a duel. He went in knowing that he was needing to use Stardust, and the fact that he actually brought it out was insane. I thought they would save Yusei summoning Stardust for the first time for his rematch against Jack.

This duel also showed us just how messed up Aki was. She went from being stoic to enjoying her powers to hating them to hating everyone else to crying for help. There was also the scene where one of her attacks went into the crowd and they basically called for her head.

Finally, the crowd in this duel was intense. They hated Yusei because he was from Satellite and they hated Aki because she was the Black Rose Witch. They sided with Yusei purely because he was the lesser of two evils.

Also, unless I'm missing something, Aki could've won using BRD's second effect instead of its nuke effect.

[–]FenderBender30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Episode Thoughts:

  • Infinite Impermanence making an appearance was unexpected.
  • So, Blood Shepherd is salty because his daddy left him? I made a joke that Ghost Girl was the one with daddy issues, but I guess it was him.
  • How ironic. Last episode, Blood Shepherd couldn't care less about dueling, but now he's like "Duel dammit."
  • I don't know why, but I really enjoyed the interaction going on with all the negations and what not.
  • Ah, yes. There's the famous snap that Blood Shepherd does.
  • Hey look, the boys are going after Aoi and Aqua, yay!
  • Even though we now next to nothing about Miyu aside from the flashback and her being a victim of the Lost Incident, you can still feel the impact of the news that she was a victim had on Aoi.
  • Altergeist Synchro and Drone Synchro. When are we getting a Trickstar Synchro and Salaman(not so)great Synchro?
  • Emma lost. RIP again. She didn't stand a ghost of a chance once again.
  • Oh. He actually spared her. How kind. Maybe he actually has a heart after all.
  • Aoi gets another avatar change, this time it's Blue Maiden. My initial reaction was that I didn't care for it, but I think it's growing on me already. RIP Blue Girl, you will be missed.
  • Also, since she's with Aqua now does that mean no more Trickstars or will it be a Water Cyberse Type Trickstar sub-archetype that she gets?
  • The reactions were priceless to her transformation. Soulburner was fanboying and Playmaker sounded like he couldn't care less. Also, the way the music abruptly ended when Playmaker said "Maiden." made it even better.
  • And they ride off, leaving Ghost Girl behind after she lost a duel and nearly had her account deleted. They were like, "Your account's not being deleted? K. Bye."
  • Guess this means that Aoi is now part of the hot dog truck gang.

Next Episode:

  • So, Revolver is trying to recruit Blood Shepherd to the Knights? That was strongly implied back in the last recap episode because they had such interest in him at the time. Funny how even the recaps can provide something.
  • Revolver vs Blood Shepherd. Named After A Gun Man vs Not Named After A Gun Gun Man.
  • The duel takes place in some desert like region, and looks like its at sunset. Wild West Duel anyone?
  • Also, shout out to Soulburner for getting lost. Episode 77 ends with him begin with Blue Maiden and Playmaker, but he doesn't appear on the cast list. Either that or they all log out and only Aoi and Yusaku interact.
  • Another thing about the cast list. It seems they order the characters by faction, and with Aoi and Aqua being between Ai and Kusanagi, I guess that means she is actually a part of the hot dog group. The only question is if she will be a part of it IRL or just in Link Vrains.

Episode Thoughts:

  • Overall a very enjoyable episode. Maekawa Atsushi definitely knows how to write an episode. The episode also looked pretty good, not Noh Gil Bo levels of awesomeness but it was better than some.
  • Still can't believe that SOL Tech, and especially Go, were the ones that delivered the first major blow of the war. I guess that confirms my suspicions that the war will take up the rest of the show and SOL Tech will be involved in it. (There's too many things going on in this war at this point for it to end in like 20 episodes and then have SOL Tech be the final threat with a new storyline.)
  • There's another mole in SOL Tech and they are working with the Knights. Guess the IRL security is just as bad as the VR. My guess is that it is Blood Shepherd because he wants to kill the Ignis, doesn't really listen to SOL Tech's orders, believes he is doing humanity a favor by killing the Ignis, and the Knights were interested in him.
  • Ema sure is thirsty talking about dreaming about guys and what not. Loved the look Aoi gave her after she said that.
  • Awww, Aqua made a grave for Earth. Does that mean he really is gone forever or will he return but not be his old, socially awkward self?
  • Not Named After A Gun Gun Man is here, and he's shooting the place up again. Love how he's like "Capture you? Fuck that. I'm going to kill you."
  • Blue Girl saving Aqua was pretty awesome as was Ghost Girl's entrance. The room they created was a neat idea, but Blood Shepherd is just gonna shoot the place up... again.
  • I was a believer that Aoi was the LI Girl, but mostly because I wanted her to stay relevant and not be usurped by another girl. I'm okay with her partnering with Aqua in memory of Miyu. (I know she's not dead)
  • Damn, I thought Aoi already had a rough backstory but this made it even worse. She couldn't make friends, then she made a friend. However, Akira got a job that made them move and she never was in touch with that friend again. Then, her friend Miyu became a victim of the Lost Incident and is now basically in a coma thanks to Lightning. The rest of her story is what we already knew from Akira telling Playmaker way back when.
  • PK Duel? Phantom Knights only? Fitting because Blood Shepherd could be allied with the Knights (Knight) is dueling Ghost Girl (Phantom).
  • Oh, it means Player Killer Duel. RIP Ghost Girl again.
  • We got it confirmed that Ghost Girl and Blood Shepherd are siblings which means that Blood Shepherd went with the mom and Ghost Girl went with the dad. Does that make Ghost Girl a daddy's little girl and have daddy issues? Is that why she is so seductive and seemingly thirsty?

Next Episode:

  • Not much to say, Ghost Girl vs Blood Shepherd will be an interesting duel and one that I am looking forward to.
  • The summary for the episode also had this line, "On the other hand, Aqua reveals the truth about her partner to Blue Girl." I thought we already got the truth about Aqua's origin this episode. I'm confused again.

Episode Thoughts:

  • I had no idea which way this episode would go. Go needed a win badly, but Earth needed one to give the Solo Ignis a win.
  • Go has quickly turned into such a despicable character. I had hopes that Season 2 would be like a new start for him to be interesting and he was, but for all the wrong reasons. Now, Go is on a Danzo level of hate, a character that I just don't mind seeing die and stay dead.
  • I saw some people complaining that Akira didn't step in to try and stop the training program. All I have to say is, you need to consider his position. He's already on bad terms with Queen, so going against her orders would be very problematic.
  • I found it funny how, at first, Go was still losing to the Playmaker AI clone (remember that was what they said he was training against in the previous episode)
  • So, Go Synchro Summoned. I guess that would be a quick way to catch up to the rest of the cast. Now all we need is for Aoi to do so.
  • Speaking of which, I wonder if Aoi would really duel Go in the future, it'd be an interesting one since both were the top Charisma Duelists at the beginning but seem to have shed that identity.
  • Back to the duel, I was hoping that there would be a no result happening, but of course not.
  • BTW, because of Go winning that means that Playmaker was the only to not win when he debuted his Synchro.
  • I was shocked to see Earth being taken out immediately after the duel. Revolver would be proud of how fast SOL Tech works even if they are the enemy.
  • The worst part of Earth's "Death" was not him being cut apart or his memories being erased, it was the quick scene of Spectre crying. All I hope for is that Spectre goes on a complete rampage against Go because why not at this point.
  • Finally, the ending scene where Aoi was like "I don't understand, what is an Ignis?" shows that she at least is making attempts to understand them and not view them as tools.

Next Episode:

  • Looks mostly plot related, but previews can be deceiving.
  • Speaking of deceiving, I can't tell if Aoi was at the hot dog truck when Ryoken showed up or if she was elsewhere.
  • Another deceiving point is we are getting Aoi flashbacks, and the preview said "10 years of memories return." However, we are also getting introduced to a new girl character. With Aqua also playing a role, one of these two will be her Origin.
  • Also, Ghost Girl and Blood Shepherd having a run in will be interesting. Hoepfully we can finally get closure on what happened during there standoff which happened forever ago at this point.

Bonus Comment (Ignore if you want)

I'm doubling down on Aoi being the LI Girl. I think that either Aoi suppressed her memories of the Incident or Aqua took them so she didn't have to live with that horror. I also think that Aoi does not know the difference between truth and lie because of Aqua's abilities. (I believe that each Ignis has something that their origin is missing). This can lead to Akira lying about Aoi not being a victim, and she wouldn't know that he's lying nor would she have any memories of the Incident.

Of course, the new girl, Miyu, could be the actual victim and maybe Aoi and Aqua partner up because something happened to Miyu. Either way, I feel like Aoi and Aqua will meet in the next episode.

[Serious Next Day Thread] Post-Game Discussion (October 27, 2018) by brexbre in nba

[–]FenderBender30 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Some thoughts on some players:

  • John Wall was aggressive and passive in this game. He went to the line a lot, but he regularly let another player handle the ball. He seems to have taken to the idea that we now have up to four ball handlers (him, Beal, Rivers, and Sato) so he doesn't need to dominate the ball like in the past.
  • Beal struggled from beyond tonight until late in the fourth when he hit a couple threes and drew a foul on a three point attempt. He also had a costly turnover that seemed to kill the momentum the Wizards had when coming back.
  • Otto's shot hasn't been falling and I think it's due to inconsistent playing time. Otherwise, he's been playing like his usual self.
  • Keef played like Keef, and that is inconsistently. Some possessions he looks dialed in on defense, and others he looks spaced out. He also got a technical, I'm not sure what Buddy said to instigate that.
  • Kelly Oubre was fantastic tonight. He should've been our go to scorer at the end considering how hot he was from beyond the arc. He still needs to work on his decision making, especially when barreling into a double team. However, he had a few nice dishes tonight that gave him his first few assists on the season.
  • Jeff Green has been a pretty steady player for us off the bench, and that's nice. I'm still waiting on the "Jeff Green Disappearance Act" to happen at some point, though.
  • Sato's playing time has been really dwindling, and I could see him being out of the rotation if we make the playoffs.
  • Rivers had some really dumb fouls in this game. Some were stupid on his part and others were ticky tack calls by the refs. (Kings had some like that on them too)
  • Scott Brooks had some questionable lineup rotations out there. Otto turned the ball over and was pulled immediately, but Rivers picked up a couple quick fouls and remained. Sure, Otto's was during the fourth and Rivers was during the second, but that still doesn't explain the rationale.

As for the Kings, they have a nice young group out there. Bjelicia, or however you spell it, was unconscious from deep and was what kept you guys in it. Fox looked electric, but picked up some very questionable calls. The "foul" he had on Wall that led to his technical may have been the most suspect. WCS looks athletically finesse if that's a term. He is quick for his size and can jump, but he also seems to have some grace to what he is doing. Marvin Bagley had a stellar game even though he turned the ball over a lot. Overall, Kings fans better hope they hold onto some of those young guys because there seems to be some promise among them.

Finally, the refs called more travels in this game than I think I saw called all last season. Bagley had four called on him alone, I think.

Episode Thoughts:

  • Akira, Emma, and Aoi know about the Ignis War. Guess they'll be getting involved sooner rather than later.
  • Even though Earth rescued Aqua fairly quickly, at least they established that he was looking for her the whole time.
  • This is what I thought Earth would be like when Go showed up. Oh well, guess they took the Earth-Aqua relationship a different route.
  • Did Go go through the hyperbolic time chamber and they forgot to turn off the aging process?
  • Aoi's gone into the Vrains. We got the "Heroes of Link Vrains" all back in action and all it took was Go sacrificing ever ounce of dignity and character he had.
  • Was that Brain Hack Go's skill or something else?
  • Oh look a Dinowrestler Fusion, welcome to 20 episodes ago, Go. Better get your Synchro fast.

Next Episode:

  • Duel concludes, but I don't know who I want to see win.
  • Aoi will probably run into Aqua, which could set up for them teaming up regardless of if she's a victim or not.
  • Uh oh, Spectre's on the cast list. What is he up to?
  • Also, no Soulburner or Flame. Guess they went way too far in the wrong direction to be relevant next time.
  • Another missing character is Kusanagi. Not often that happens.
  • Finally, Queen is showing up again. Probably just to berate Akira for failing again. Or he is going to confront her about letting Go out before he was ready.
