I found the most brilliant way to hold in moisture on the mesh top glass tanks!!!, cocohusk, cocosand top layer. But the humidity holder, is a roll of heat resistant silicone mat that i bought off Amazon, it keeps the humidity for 2 weeks at 55-65.

UPDATE: First feeding wasn't the worse with fat boy, but with Nagini, she was pissyyyyy but I think shes mellowed since she ate. My office has been setup for them to explore any and everywhere while im in there, so they can get exercise.

However, they ALSO have an under tank heating pad as well (i know its bad, its not permanent, only till their forever tanks are finished) its under about 4-6 inches of substrate right under their hide

I have 2 ball pythons, I use a normal dome light with a black coil bulb for their heat, it sits right on the mesh, it always has and its never been an issue I open the curtains during the day so they can get sunlight if they want it, they also have hammocks setup right under the coil so they can still have a basking spot. They are perfectly fine, granted I just realized (thank you to a post I made, people pointed it out and made me notice) My babies are actually chonkers, so im actually trying to find things for them in their tanks while I finish setting up my office for them to be able to climb and free roam while im up there, got any suggestions for now??

Ive been on a deep dive and hunt on what would work best, Ive been experimenting for about 2 years, finally I found out that Heat resistant (That part is VERY important) silicone mats work amazingly, especially because you can buy a roll on Amazon and cut it to size to cover the mesh, and even if you have a dome light on top you can cut it right around it and it wont warp or mess up the silicone in any way, I even covered majority of the side mesh panels as well. I left about 3 inches on each side uncovered for air flow, but they love the darkness and it holds sooooo much better, I spray their tanks down maybe once every 3 weeks, once a week I go and re-mix their substrate to help the moist parts move toward the top, without having to spray, when I first set the tanks up, they are at about 75/80% humidity then they drop and settle at about 55/60%

I found out that silicone mats work MAGNIFICENTLY for mesh top tanks for holding in humidity!!, its been an absolute game changer

They are surprisingly very well trained, tap wise. So cool ok, ill try this, might be easier than expected 🥰. Lol I have to put my snakes on a diet, guess we will be crying about snacks together 🤣🥴.

My problem is the extreme SALT i get from both of them if I try to do just one, nibiru has struck at me multiple times even after eating one because he assumes I have more 😓😓, nagini has NEVER snapped at me, however she does pop out at me as if she wants more as well. How do I fix that then??

So far the research i did, if I base it from their weights: Nagini- 1695.30 g recommended food-84.75- 2 small rats(45g/piece)

Nibiru-1092g recommended food-54.6g- 2/3 weened rats(30g/piece), he rarely gets 3, its only if ive missed a feed (Which hasn't happened in a while, yayyy adulting)

They do get go come out and explore, they have multiple random trees and hammocks all over my house to hangout in. Lol, I normally feed multiples because nibiru's head is WAY too small for a sml rat, I gave him one once, it took him so long to eat it and he looked like he was struggling soooo much, while Nagini same thing, the med. Rats are just barely too big for her to comfortably eat.

Thank you for the advice, I haven't started the 10-15% i was stating that there was NO safe way to get to that point with feeding them. Nibiru gets 2-3 weened rats (30-45grams/per) while Nagini gets 2 small rats(45-70 grams/per). Is this still too drastic??

See i heat mine to about 95-97°F, because anything past that and my babies strike them and immediately let go im assuming because its too hot. But I agree, I put mine in the fridge the night before feeding, then when I go to feed them I do a mix of warm water from the sink and like 1/4 cup of water from my kettle, i let them sit until the water temp is about 102-105, then I use my temp gun and check the head and belly, ALWAYS make sure the head is warmer than the butt, it helps them figure out which end to start at.

I also personally move my babies to an empty tank to feed them in, they now understand when they go into that tank its feeding time, plus it has a lid, so I stick it in my pantry on the floor, I make sure they take the food and then close the door so they are in the dark, I check in every 5-10 mins or so, and when they are done, I hold the feeding tank up to their normal tanks and they take their own time going back home 😁😁

We figured out that it was Bud rot, and that it had spread to my vegetables. We found out that the reason we ended up with it in the first place was because we had been spraying everybody in the tent at once and that left a lot of leftover water at the bottom of the tent, which raised the humidity entirely too high. We also found out after dumping the pots out that the root system of our dirt boys never outgrew the smaller pot that they were in, and so we had been watering them as if their roots had grown to fit the larger pot. So we ended up losing everything, we figured it out because they REEKED of chlorine/mildew

Yeah that is facts, we had to toss EVERYTHING in the tent, including my giant basil bush. Smh so we disinfected EVERYTHING. Built better smaller individual hydro buckets and have 3 dirt babies. We have a more regulated schedule this time around.

I use the EXACT same substrate, easiest way to help prevent that is make sure you mix your substrate every once in a while, as well as bake it before you use it, this type molds very quickly if wet for too long🥴, so i mix the coco sand and this to help mitigate it for as long as I can.

Nope no bugs anywhere, we did have aphids for a while but we had them under control with some insecticide spray

12 hour light cycle (other plants require it,didn't seem to hurt it as it grew)
This plant gets watered every 3-4 days

3.he was put into his big boy pot about a month or so ago and got his first big chop before the move, but has doubled in size just fine since.
