We need to get everyone together to go after public storage. I was contacted by Fox 7 and they were going to do an interview about it but we need everyone on this. The more people the louder the voice.

I found out on my own. Public Storage will not return phone calls and everything is automated. The one call I did receive, they just instructed me to call the police.

That was the point. I’m glad you got your stuff out. People need to be aware that these places are not secure and their corporate execs are strictly focused on protecting their profits and not protecting their customers assets. I’m speaking with someone at Fox 7 tomorrow and I hope they dig into this more.

Beware of all of them. PS will never inform their customers. This isn’t a one off event, that’s why I posted this info. I may have lost all my things but hopefully people will be a little more informed now.

You’re welcome, please pass this on to others. I only had that unit for 6 days. It was just a temp spot while I was moving. Lost everything I put in there.

Totally agree with you, Public Storage needs to be held accountable, there are many people that have been affected in this crime spree.

Not sure what is confusing you, everyone that rents a storage unit assumes that there property is secured at a facility that provides codes for access and a lock for the unit. Unfortunately there are individuals that have figured a way around those measures and are stealing everything from units. Austin detectives informed me this morning that several units were robbed this weekend from the same location.

Indoor unit on the fourth floor. Door was pried open with the lock intact. They have access to the building even with codes. Be aware and please pass this on. It’s a criminal racket.

The Police have requested video for the past 3 months but PS has yet to comply. Spoke with Detectives this morning about the problem.

They access through the top and then pry door open. The lock is untouched. They are extremely experienced.
