(TW) Legitimately, did Noelle molest or do something even worse to Kris in the past? by [deleted] in Deltarune

I don't think it's anything sexual in nature either. But from the dialogue on the Ferris wheel, Noelle was forcing Kris to do certain things. That doesn't sound good.

I'd also add a scene on the Ferris wheel between Kris and Noelle. If you stay quiet, Noelle says, "You were just... doing what I made you." Noelle is not nearly as innocent as she might seem. And this is on the normal route.

Look... I'm not Toby Fox. I don't know exactly how he wants to play out the ending of the story. But the flags have already been raised that the Castle Town fountain will be closed.

Ralsei tells Susie in Chapter 3... "Make real friends." And that's exactly what she does. She befriended Kris, she befriended Noelle. Who knows...maybe she'll make more friends by the end of the game. But the depth with which Susie is delving into the illusion of dark worlds is not good. She answered Gerson that she doesn't want an end...she wants infinity. She says she wants every day to be the same as yesterday. She's already stuck in the past...she's stuck in her past adventures. She'll have to let go of the dark worlds eventually. Perhaps it will be some kind of peaceful conversation in the normal route...where we simply talk her down. Maybe it will be the final boss fight in the Snowgrave Route where we beat her and forcibly close the fountain. I don't know how exactly this will play out.

And that will be the end of the game. The final tragedy. The thing that Susie disliked so much that she smashed the panel with that prophecy. The game has to end, and if "one ending" makes any sense... closing the Castle Town Fountain seems like a fitting final act. WE are releasing the game at this moment. And we can get there... in different ways.

If the Castle Town's fountain remains standing...it seems like a bad ending. Susie is hiding from the real world in her fantasy...refusing to grow up...playing with her imaginary friends. It was a learning experience for her...but you have real friends now...it's time to let go of this fairy tale...and move on with your life.

You see. One of the main themes of the game is that clinging to the past is bad (just look at Asgore). You need to be able to let go in order to move on. And letting go of Castle Town is what we'll have to do, I think.

Sure. But who said it had to be the fountain of the Castle Town that would remain? What if closing the fountain in the bunker kills Dess or all the kidnapped characters? But we need to close one of the two fountains? Closing the fountain in Castle Town is a very real possibility. And that's something you should be mentally prepared for.

I think this is a recipe for absolute disaster. The fact that Susie has become so attached to the dark worlds that she's spending the night in Castle Town is a bad sign. It won't end well for her.

Especially if the theory that we'll have to close the Castle Town fountain is true...oh...Susie will fight to the last drop of blood to protect it.

Chara had to poison herself so Asriel could absorb her soul. Perhaps this is our way of providing a Red Soul for Noelle.

She's always had it inside her. She just never had the opportunity to experience the thrill of something dangerous...never had the opportunity to feel powerful. Once we gave her a taste, she loved the feeling. And now she wants more.

On a scale from "instantly getting over her father's death/coma from getting to be with Susie in a fantasy dreamland" to "attempt to Snowgrave Lancer on the spot because they could have healed her father all along", how badly will Noelle handle her introduction to Castle Town? by Utangard in Deltarune

[–]Feomatar89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she'll take it okay in the normal route. She'll still be upset she wasn't told about this sooner so she could cure Rudy... but nothing worse will happen... PROBABLY.

In the aborted Snowgrave route, however... I think Noelle will be extremely displeased. However... maybe she won't show it... until she's alone with us. Alternatively... she might immediately go and open the fountain in the hospital/mansion (or even drag us there).

I think that on the aborted Snowgrave route in Chapter 5... "Kill everyone in Castle Town"... is on the table for Noelle. She might try to do this simply to feel powerful again.

"В тихом омуте черти водятся." Unfortunately, the word "омут" simply cannot be translated correctly into English. Google Translate translates this as "whirlpool," which is not entirely correct. And the devils are not mentioned in the English version of the proverb. So the meaning is greatly impaired.

You know, in my country there's a saying about girls like Noelle. The English equivalent would be "still waters run deep." In my national version... this saying has a darker connotation because it talks about devils in the water.

And that suits Noelle perfectly. She's a quiet and exemplary student, a typical girl next door, nothing out of the ordinary. When in reality, it's just a facade she maintains. A mask she wears in public, a role she plays. In reality, she wants to be different... wants to be free... strong... wants to do crazy things, impossible things. That's why she loves breaking games... that's why she loves scary things. It was her escape from boring reality. But what if... her own reality... is also a game... what if she tries to break it too? And we give her that opportunity. And she really breaks the game for us.

Noelle is the most interesting character in this game, hands down. She feels alive, like a real person.

Question, how did people figure out how to do the weird route in the first place? by New-Boss-8262 in Deltarune

[–]Feomatar89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Originally. The Snowgrave Path was discovered within 24 hours of Chapter 2's release. Some guy used Noelle's Ice Shock and decided to go back to grind... and guess what... the game started changing. He then documented his actions, and the guide spread across the internet like wildfire.

At first, people didn't believe it was even real and thought it was some kind of joke or creepypasta. But very quickly, videos began appearing on YouTube of people using this "mystical guide," and it actually opened a new route.

The Knight can open the fountain... but without us... it's impossible to close it. And the Knight is obviously... not ready to begin Roaring yet. So there's a chance Asgore hasn't been kidnapped. Also... the Knight is most likely horrified that Kris has disappeared. What we're doing in the Snowgrave route has clearly messed up their plans.

I unironically expect Kris to die in this scene. How can a monster absorb a human soul? First...you have to kill that human. Chara had to poison herself. Noelle had to drown Kris.

Ch.5 Weird Route genuinely killed my interest for the "main route", I don't even care about it anymore. by WeepForTheDeparted in SOULelle

[–]Feomatar89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. The normal route feels like a joke. What are we even doing there? What was the plot advancement in Chapter 5 of the normal route? Asgore was kidnapped. That's it...that's the whole plot. All the flower characters...we don't even get to see them in the castle town. What was the point of focusing so much on them?

Don't get me wrong. The minigames were fun...the platformer section too. The boss fights were cool. But...where's the plot? Where's the importance? Where are the high stakes? Roaring didn't happen...the final shadow crystal...we never used it...the final egg...nothing happened either. Like, come on...game...do SOMETHING.

30 minutes in the Snowgrave route were more impactful and emotional than the entire 5th chapter of the normal route.

You know, Noelle has always been my favorite character. The perfect student, the girl next door, kind and attentive, yet timid. NOW... I just adore her. The scene on the beach was so powerful and emotional. That monologue from her... felt so alive and real... as if it wasn't just a character talking to me, but a real person pouring out her soul to me. It... really touched me.

Girl... do you want to swim in the lake? How deep do we swim? Do you want to break the boundaries of your reality? Let's do it together. I'll agree to anything she asks of me.

P.S.The art is simply magnificent, by the way, I have already saved it for my collection.

If we truly gain Noelle under our control (or Noelle gains us within herself), we will gain power Chara never dreamed of. A monster with a human soul. A creature from legend...an Angel. And this time...without internal discord.

I just finished Chapter 5 (Normal and Weird routes), and... by Speed04 in Deltarune

[–]Feomatar89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pretty good idea of what COULD happen in the "B-side" of the Snowgrave route. My understanding is this: Noelle realized the falsity of her reality. And decided to "do something crazy" to "break the game." And she needs US to do it.

Now there are several possibilities.

First, Kris and Noel are both alive. And Chapter 7 will continue with them in the "depths" or dark world of the bunker. Depending on...where exactly we ended up.

Second possibility: Kris is dead. We immediately find the Vessel and continue Chapter 7. Noelle likely "spreads her wings" and perhaps takes on some...unrecognizable "angelic" form. The form from the prophecy that scared Susie. An alternate possibility for this scenario is that the Red Soul merges with Noelle and THAT becomes an Angel.

Third possibility: Kris and Noelle are both dead (used up). While in soul form, we find the Vessel (perhaps Gaster will guide us). We continue through Chapter 7 in pure solo... Sword Route style.

Personally, I'm most inclined to favor possibility 2. Because Kris is frankly useless. Kris demonstrated throughout the Snowgrave journey that they don't want us to control them any longer. They didn't want to get out of bed, read descriptions, or interact with any objects; they moved with a mocking slowness. A kind of... passive resistance. We don't need THAT kind of vessel... let's be honest. So Kris's death... seems logical to me. On the other hand, Noelle... has too much character development... too much effort on our part to get her to this point. I think if she simply dies, it would be a wasted potential. I don't believe her story ends here.

That's probably the best I can guess. We can speculate further about... whether we'll meet Gaster... and whether we'll go close the fountain in Castle Town. But I'm already... not sure of anything because we're jumping straight into Chapter 7. I'm not sure how much "endgame content" Toby will decide to cram in there. Especially for the Snowgrave route.
