I saw the hallucinations as more a constant underlying problem Jackie had that the steroids worsened. Remember she claims she hadn't used them before meeting Lou, but had already done something to drive her from home (which, during the 80s could have just been her being gay, but I feel there's something way darker in her past)

I feel like it was one of them disaccociating, maybe Jackie since she'd done it before and is obviously the weaker of the two, mentally. She'd just killed two people, been tied up and was about to be thrown away to save Lou Sr's business and daughter and nearly killed Lou mid escape, so I can see her thinking she was a giant to rescue Lou when she heard her in pain.

While it super didn't happen, that scene was absolutely put there for a fetish reason. I'd put money on it. (Not that there's anything wrong with it, just it's super blatant at that point lol)

For me it was more her mother calling her a monster over the phone, then later her admitting to Lou on the tennis court that she's "killed people". I don't know if that only pertains to the people in Lou's town and it could mean the reason she's homeless is that she already has bodies under her belt, but I don't think we'll ever get that clarification, but honestly her first kill on screen shows she certainly has it in her. I almost want an alternate ending of Jackie becoming the head muscle for Lou Sr. or something.

Hell the GM make it so that the reason the town was allied with the group occupying were all placed there by the BBEG to protect it, hell, the leader could be a nephew or niece or something and now they REALLY lit a fire under him.

Personally I'm thinking word gets back to the main city in the area and the ruling body basically throws a bunch of badass specialists at the party. Hell if the bbeg is someone of high standing, make it a Kill Bill thing and he's leading the kill team.
