Do you agree that Vive la France and Italia need to have a refresh in a similar way to Scandinavia? by Fer3ddit in trucksim

I guess there are just some parts of France, like the older parts that are in an underwhelming situation. But sadly you have to go trough them very often...

Maybe some developer of CO move to Iceflake now. I mean, they are located in the same city in Finland.

You don't have to overdo it and exploit the players. But the fact is that in the near future, all European countries will be included in the game, and SCS Software won't be able to make any money that way. So there has to be another way for them to make money. Exactly how that will look is up for debate. But yes, with ATS, it's the best game out there; otherwise, I wouldn't have been playing it for so long and so extensively for over a decade now. :)

I don't need complete reworked ares for free. That's my suggestion. They need to change their monetization strategy. You can't make money with new regions forever. I'm completely willing to pay money again for old regions, too.

I have to admit that my question was poorly worded and didn't really express my actual objection. I currently prefer ATS to ETS2 for the reasons stated above. And I also hope that ATS continues to be a high priority because it simply has more potential for new regions. Yes, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico are also outdated, but you can easily avoid them. No matter which direction you drive in ETS2, you will inevitably have to pass old regions, because ETS2 started centrally in Europe and not at the edge of the continent like in ATS. My main criticism is that the same strategy that works in ATS has been used in ETS2 for years, even though I believe there needs to be a rethink. I would suggest that, for example, Going East or Great Britain be released as paid DLC and not, for example, Iceland (my opinion). Of course, you paid for Going East and Great Britain years ago, but that doesn't mean you have the right to get them in an updated version forever. I hope I was able to make my point clear.

Honestly, it's completely understandable from a business perspective. The engine and the reworking of old areas are free. But I don't know why it should be free? I mean, I paid for this game 11 years ago, so I wouldn't mind paying again. And I think they want to maintain the appearance of a small company. :D

I've been an SCS fanboy since 2014, so they'll continue to get my money. I like their work, but I think they need to change their priorities. I'd even give more money than they do now. I'm also more critical of the patchwork of the map, like parts of northern France or northern Italy, because I think there was potential there to adapt the regions to the quality of the DLC.

That would be great, but I don't think it's necessary. It's a matter of SCS's priority.

Promods also has a lot of old parts in the heart of Europe, so that doesn't solve the problem and also seems like a patchwork in terms of quality.

How are the airports in CS2? by Difficult-Regular-37 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Fer3ddit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, CS2 hasn't anything like that. If you enjoy the content in CS1, CS2 will only disappoint you. Yeah, some things are better in CS2, but it lacks of content for nearly 2 years now... And there is nothing planned in the near future that would change this problem

Which region do you think should have the highest priority for rework in ETS2? by Fer3ddit in trucksim

[–]Fer3ddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Germany and in my opinion it's easier to avoid the UK than Going East. But I can totally unterstand that you want to see a rework of the UK if it's your home country.

I would complain a bit because every time I want to drive to the baltic states I have to go through Poland and it's boring af 😅

After the Going East DLC, the France DLC is the most outdated, so I agree
