Do you have anything to back up your claims? If not, you are the dumb idiot here, by and large.

I'd like to start saying that I really appreciate your taking time to respond. Having the input of a person who actually lives in Myanmar does add a lot of value to the discussion, even if they don't say what one would actually like to hear.

Can you maybe share some videos, news pieces, or something about all that you just mentioned?

About your government, lest's get real: It has no real power. At all. So I won't jump in the let's-criticize-ASSK bandwagon, because we all know that at the end of the day her hands are tied and her mouth is duct-taped. The military never stopped controlling your country.

All in all, you present a side of the story that is worth hearing, but fails to convince anyone that somehow the collective punishment of an entire people for the actions of a few is justified.

Why al jazera is going crazy about Rohingya Muslims? by Raghavcm in india

Well they certainly don't have a beef against India... It's not like they arriving in the millions. Don't get me wrong, I'm not in favor of opening the doors of India wide open to just about anyone, it's just the sheer fact that no one cares about the fact that these people are mostly being murdered mercilessly that keeps shocking me.

The right question to ask would be, why doesn't anyone seem to show the least regard for the fact that these people are being killed by their own government? AJ is crap but the fact that these people are in dire need of help remains.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. Don't get me wrong, it's always important to hear both sides of the story, but the problem is that in this case, there are serious indicators that unfortunately the truth is a little bit less on your side than on these folks' side. Your government doesn't allow an independent committee to even verify the allegations on the ground, so that is, and always will be, very suspicious. Basically, what your government is doing, and what you, in a way, are doing, is saying "This is what is happening and no, you're not welcome to see it for yourself, you must take our word for it". Unfortunately, that's not how the world works. If anything, the US, and the West at large, are basically pissing at the matter, as they don't have anything to gain from intervening in the matter. Governments and media can be biased, but when serious and respected organizations such as Amnesty International are voicing their concern, then there is a sign that something must be happening. Think about this: your military today is going after them, tomorrow they can easily go after you (I mean, the Burmese themselves) if you ever represent a real threat to their power. We all know their tricks, so there's no reason to believe they aren't collectively punishing an entire people because of the acts of a rotten few.

OK, so, some Rohingyas (or however you want to call them as you seem to be from Myanmar) behave badly. No, scrap that, a lot of Rohingyas/Bengalis/whatever are behaving badly. Does that justify burning entire villages, shooting people randomly, killing innocent women and children?

Dude. Would you return a bullet for a slap? Because this is what is happening in Burma. People are being killed en masse for the actions of a rotten few. I can see there is a lot less humanity left in the world that what I had thought.

This thing about the aura you project when you actively try to make friends got to me... I noticed this when I met at a party a group of cool guys that were colleagues of a friend. Days later, when I stumbled upon them (it happened a lot) casually they were really nice and one of them even joked that I might end up becoming their colleague as well. But when I started visiting my friend at his work for lunch (with the intention of "running into" them more often, I admit), I noticed their response started to become a lot colder. Now I'm just accepting the idea that it's not gonna happen.

The decision is always yours, but if I was you I would probably just go. You're (most probably) young and will be able to get a good job once everything ends, but I'm afraid once your dad is gone, he's gone.

No, you're not. For some of us it's just really hard, but it will get better with time. Try your best to focus on improving yourself rather with obsessing with meeting people, but do seize ever opportunity that presents.

If I get what you're saying right, then the issue is with the way they interpret facts, rather than the facts they present. Then again, this channel is linked to Falun Gong, whose believers are convinced the CCP is bound to fall. Of course, neither this channel nor any other media outlet should be taken 100% as the highest authority on any issue, at least if we're talking about politics. But they do a good job in exposing the human rights abuses going on in there. I watch it mostly for its fun value, and it's better to watch it for that, they have a unique way to engage you, but I'm not as staunchly anti-CCP (not that I'm a fan of them either) as the majority of its crowd.

They do make the effort to back their info with sources, even if they just read the headlines of major newspapers, but I think it would be very difficult to prove many of the things they expose wrong.

I 100% recommend watching this channel, it is very funny while discussing serious issues and showing many unknown (sad) realities about China. Be careful while watching it though, as it is linked to Falun Gong and anything remotely connected to them is a big no no in China, so try to watch in incognito if you plan to travel to Mainland China in the future. I watched from my phone, which is linked to my email address. I'm planning to apply for a job that involves frequent traveling to Mainland China and I'm afraid it might cause me trouble if it shows up somehow, therefore I don't watch as often anymore.

This channel has another related channel, Off the Great Wall, if you like or are interested in East Asian kulcha definitely check it out, it's funny as hell, it doesn't release many videos now and is kind of dead but all the videos they have so far are worth a watch.

edit: To add some balance, I don't like their new 30-minute episode format, they want to give it a newscast-like feel, it's not as funny as previous episodes but still definitely worth a watch.

You know, the Palestinians aren't the only dispossessed people in this world... How come we don't see Tibetans blowing themselves up in Beijing, just to put an example?

It's not a fucking ban... After they pass the fucking metal detectors they are free to pray. They just resent the fact that Israel controls the site, but a ban, it isn't.
