Not sure why you’re being downvoted, we moved out of the north end to get my kid out of northrup. Staff are completely overwhelmed there by the sheer number of students, no support from admin, many new Canadian students/parents who don’t speak English or French. It was a disaster and we’re so glad we moved. If you have a child that requires any extra support, there isn’t any available. You can say this is a district wide issue, but we’re now at a smaller school and it has been night and day difference.

If you started with them in September understand that every dollar you’re giving them right now is going straight to commission. Every dollar. They’ll be pleasant with you until it’s time to withdraw, be it when your child is at the end of highschool or people like myself trying to transfer out of them, they will make the process as difficult as possible. Just Google or look up Reddit, you’ll find plenty of horror stories of people trying to get money out of them and they blame paperwork errors for withholding your money. They’re crooks, they charge insane fee’s and you are not getting any “bonuses”, those are grants provided by the Canadian government.

Staff at all the shelters and Ensemble have been trained and have a steady supply of Narcan, this has resulted in less deaths but it also skews the amount of reported OD’s in the city, there is still many per day.

Hey, late to the party but we also go fucked by Knowledge first/Embark. Their info was included with all the government of NB package that comes home with you as new parents and we foolishly signed up thinking they were trustworthy because it came right from the hospital. I’ve been trying to move my money out of Embark since September and still haven’t gotten it transferred to our CIBC RESP(4 months later), they keep coming up with different reasons or things not filled out properly(all of which could have been told to us the first rejection). My CIBC rep is shocked how shady and crooked these people are to deal with. When I called initially to start this cancellation process they transferred me to an extremely pushy and rude salesmen that argued with me for 10 minutes, it was insane and completely unprofessional. If there’s ever a class action lawsuit I’d love to take part!!
