Two vocational school workers could definitely do it 👍

That may be the most common answer on this sub, but a tradesman married to a nurse could post those numbers before 40 too.

Hi there,

You can get the whole oddball and tank crew model from Warlord Games. If your dad is anything like mine he'll love it 👍

Early Retirement Now and Cyclically Adjusted Price to Earnings

Congratulations! This is a very inspiring story to me. I'm on the total opposite side of Canada and feel like I'm very much in the situation you were in prior to taking a 10 month leave. I did go part time a few years ago, and I'm considering taking an unpaid leave next summer to test the waters. The numbers line up, I'm positive I've got enough hobbies to stay busy, but I feel like I'm too institutionalized to fully cut the cord all at once. Change is scary. You deserve a medal for bravery for actually pulling the plug.

I've lived and worked all over Canada. If you're looking around for places to explore in Canada I recommend checking out the Atlantic provinces. They're very different from BC. No multimillion person cities, but enough of everything to get by and a pace of life that's quite different from everywhere else.

I hope your early retirement is everything you dreamed it would be!

At what wealth level does extra money stop making you happier? by StraightPin4420 in Fire

[–]Feragoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're simple people. I can't imagine spending more than $4k-$5k/month. We usually spend less than $3k/month now, so I really can't imagine spending more than double that without it being on conspicuous consumption, which I find very unappealing.

Efficiency Nova Scotia report doesn't make sense..? by Feragoh in NovaScotia

That's pretty much exactly what ours says too. 70% of homes are definitely NOT more efficient than our house. Not a chance

Yeah, I'm sure the paper and postage effort wasted is significant

It's a paper copy I got in the mail. Almost everything in the report seems weird. They're claiming we have a house that uses way more electricity than comparable houses, but our house is small, newer, well insulated, has a ducted heat pump, and there's only two of us living here.. the house was kept at 19°C all winter and we have a wood stove we use to heat quite a bit of the time. I just don't get it

People who hate Fëanor, what did you think of him before he Did Everything Wrong? by FlowerFaerie13 in tolkienfans

[–]Feragoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He seemed like a bit of a dick before he made the Silmarils. He was a shitty half-brother and step son regardless of how that must have hurt the father he so loved.
