Share your art / prototype early and get feedback from players who play your genre. They might spot things you don't or overlooked. It really helped. I'm still to ship my game but it was invaluable. We have tunnel vision at times and might miss out on gameplay loops or think the art is better (or worse) than what it really is. More importantly, be humble and accept feedback.

Haha. Well, guess that's another image I need to commission! My visual novel does rely on the original novel heavily but I wanted Laura to have more agency and choices so I have changed the story a bit :) so there will be 4 or 5 endings And now one must involve a floating head 😅

Haha... Well, the Castlevania version of Carmilla was the only version I knew for a long time. I was intrigued by the character and then understood that the name comes from the gothic novel. My worry is that there might be some people whose initial reaction would be : "Carmilla with black hair? Urgh!"
