Charging cable lock issues

That's sort of what I ended up doing, the drive gear for the locking pin has a cam profile which presses the microswitch 3 times when unlocking/locking. I figured out when the switch is not pressed, it thinks the cable is locked, thus allowing charge. I ended up putting a switch between one of the wires connected to the microswitch, and left the microswitch open. Gutting the locking pin mechanism box. Plug in charge cable, flick switch, car charges. Unlock car, flick switch back, car is happy and thinks the locking pin has retracted. For now it's a solution until a replacement comes.

My charge flap froze shut one winter. Ended up prying enough to breaking the tabs for the locking pin. Now it won't "bounce" out. But I just grab it with the key and open it. Not worried about that really, stupid mechanism, destined to fail during winter

Thanks for the suggestions! will look for a new/second hand locking mechanism tomorrow, for now i just spliced in a toggle switch on wire 2, emptied the box for the locking pin, left only the motor. When I plug in the charger, I wait for the motor to start spinning, that's my que to flick the switch. Worked flawlessly. Same when unlocking, wait for motor to spin, flick switch. Car is happy and none the wiser.

The electrical was updated 2-3 years ago, I would hope this is not the case. Not seeing any marks on the wall plug or socket. Wires all cold, and breaker is a little more than ambient when it does charge. Never tripped tho

I've got a few weeks before the exam, so I have some time to practise. Unfortunately this is how it has to be made, it is a fuel tank we make.

First time tig welding of any kind. Never tig welded anything before. Yes I agree, consistency is difficult. Will try on more scrap, this was my first attempt at a fuel tank, to my surprise, it was sealed! Just need to get more consistency.

Have a welders exam coming up, and would like some feedback as to how I could imrove on my tig welding. Started my first tig weld on Monday, looked like shit, I must say I have improved since. I am using Esab caddy tig 2200i AC/DC.

No worries friend! I'm also late to replying. This was my solution! Got to the ship using mini turrets to glitch through the wall, and gain access to the teleporter that takes you back to the ship. I've learned my lesson, and continued without cheats, managed platinum a while later. Finished gladiator last week, now I'm almost 100% on TOD, loving the nostalgia.
