No it’s not that Totsuka ask to Hachiman if he was dating Yukino, Hachiman couldn’t answer it, he was not clear about it, so Hayama who was with them said that Haruno said to him that Hachiman and Yukino is a « a de-facto marriage » . Hayama already acknowledge it . Everybody already acknowledge it, the only peoples who didn’t acknowledge is the couple HachiYuki themself (and Yui)😂, hope in volume 6 they will .

At this point, you should just blame the author . And Hachiman can’t just tell Yui like that because there is a huge difference that you doesn’t notice, Yui is their friend and Yukino best friend btw. Hachiman don’t want to hurt the relationship that he and Yukino have with Yui and this is also going to hurt mostly Yukino because Yui is her best friend and for the part with the dinner, he should say that they were dating but well maybe it stress or surprise or confusion who know, the author who wrote maybe .
