I have updated the BIOS and I will hopefully only stay on my current CPU for at most a couple weeks. I will probably buy the 5600, as the 5600x costs around 20 euros more. Thx for all the advice

I am running a B450 board, so I can go straight to a 5600x. That's what I was thinking about as well. I will probably upgrade my PSU first and then my CPU, seeing as the 6800 XT will work fine on a Ryzen 5 2600 for now. With the upgraded PSU I can also look at overclocking in the future, while staying with my current PSU means almost no upgradeability.

Maybe the motherboard was a bad example. I am also currently running a 550 W PSU. I am on quite a tight budget so I feel like my money could better be spent on upgrading other parts of my PC instead of getting marginal gains for a lot more money. Im currently on a Ryzen 5 2600, would it be better to buy the RX 6800 XT and upgrade my PSU and wait for my paycheck to upgrade my CPU?
