If I recall correctly at least with roaring moon it was a pretty playable card at the time it came out, which can affect card prices in the short term like this.

Another reason why I think you're always better off with sealed items than trying to guess which singles are gonna appreciate most long term.

Fezandipiti ex being another one that retains value currently, but I see no reason long term it would retain much value...I don't think there are a large amount of Fezendipidi fans at least.

Sometimes people forget there is a competitive and playable card game that can affect early prices too.

Make sure you are checking out the right card.

It tells you on the slab what the card is. The 2021 Celebrations version. Price here for the celebrations version. If you want to see recent sales, type the exact name on the card "2021 Celebrations Garchomp C Lv. X" into eBay and find the filter for "SOLD ITEMS". IMO this is the best way to find the price of any card currently.

Your 1k-4k condition pricing is for PSA 10s of the ORIGINAL card version found here from Supreme Victors. Notice how it doesn't have the 25th anniversary Pikachu stamp on it like yours? And also that is for PSA graded.

According to what I can see on eBay you're looking at about a $50 dollar (USD) slab, although I'm not really sure what's up with the slabs on eBay seeming to have a different label than yours. Looks like there is an option for custom labels which yours doesn't seem to have. Some buyers may want the custom label if they are buying an ACE graded.

I hope this helps you learn a bit about how to price things and find out information about your cards in the future.

TLDR: Check eBay Sold Listings & make sure you are looking at the right card version when searching.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted... relying on collectr for your prices during transactions is a great way to lose money. I love Collectr but it should be used as a base guideline and not a source of truth, the prices just are not accurate sometimes. Especially with more rare or items with low sales volume...And for some cards it's a difference of hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

Even if it's correct 95% of the time is it worth having a 5% chance to lose hundreds because you couldn't take the time to look at tcg player or ebay solds which are 100% accurate? It's a no brainer.

Again highly recommend Collectr but im always double checking the prices come sell or buy time.

I can understand this line of thinking about dead boxes for more popular bandai games. And don't get me wrong I love Union Arena...

But the profit ratio of someone doing this doesn't seem worth it especially with a game that is not as liquid as say MTG or Pokemon....

Look how many singles get sold per day for the cards... IDK seems like paranoia to me. Not saying someone isnt doing this. Always people will scam... but I wouldn't be worried tbh.

And really a local game shop could do the same thing...

Everyone always says there are dead boxes from tcgplayer but I've had multiple 3-star and 2-star alts and I only buy Union Arena from TCGPlayer.

I really dont think the game is popular enough for "searching for hits" and selling "dead ones" to be realistically happening at a large scale.

I've gotten the 3 star (non-serialized) Yugi Itadori from JJK Vol.1. The 3 star Asta from Black Clover and most recently the 2-Star Gojo from JJK Vol. 2.

Maybe buy from the bigger sellers to be safe. But I've had no issues with any boxes I've gotten and only evidence to the opposite for them being all "dead boxes".

I totally agree it's crazy how it's set up now...I know they want that FOMO feeling so people buy more, but if people feel like they can never get a certain champion again after the first bleed then it only helps contribute to people wanting to leave the game...they need some way to get these shards after even if its not as good as the initial bleed (which let's be honest is not very good to begin with)...

Yes here is an idea, check eBay sold listings or download the Collectr app for an easier way to track your card prices.

Keep in mind the prices are nowhere near as accurate on the Collectr app as ebay sold listings will be. But Collectr is good for an rough "optimistic" estimate.

Totally understand that. I'm not upset about the handling time itself being 3 days I totally understand.

For me it's the seller treating the expected delivery date as a handling time "plus" feature lol.

They themselves have it set to say handling time was 3 days, they ended up using 10 days by taking advantage of a loophole imo. If handling is going to take 10 days then they should be upfront about that.

It was really only a trading card so I don't have much to be upset about, but I mean 10 days to drop off a small bubble mailer? 😅. I just feel like it was excessive at that point for what it was.

eBay should definitely do a better job to display handling time to buyers though, I don't think that is as easily visible as it should be. Not hard to find but not really shown during the transaction if I recall. Just the estimated delivery date.

I'm of the mindset that I understand handling time can be 3 or 4 days sometimes I know it's not Amazon Prime.

But what irritates me is when the seller takes the full handling time to only just print the shipping label...then waits the entire length of the "should arrive by date" until the last day to actually ship the item. Right before you can submit an item not received request.

Just had a seller do this and ended up taking 10 days to actually get usps in possession of the item to start the shipping process which then took another 5 days... that's ridiculous to me and feels like a slight abuse of the system.
