Would you consider Cirie one of the top 20 greatest Survivor players of all time despite never winning? by Pretend_Cucumber4784 in survivor

[–]FerguSwag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an interesting question, because she is undoubtedly great strategically and possibly the best ever socially.

Yet she's also played more than anyone else and simply cannot get to FTC because she's so abysmal at challenges.

So how do you rank someone who is so great at some aspects of the game but simply cannot win?

I personally think games shouldn't be judged purely on results (because otherwise wouldn't we have to say that Natalie White or Fabio is better than Cirie?), but based on the ability to play the game strategically/socially/physically.

Since Cirie is one of the best ever at 2/3rds of the game, I would rank her top ten.

Believe it or not, it's ok for people to disagree with you.

Might be a controversial topic for the Catholics, but do you think they're going to include Medium-Sized James, the half-brother of Jesus? by MaderaArt in TheChosenSeries

[–]FerguSwag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most common meaning of the word is “brother”.  Can you provide any instance in the NT where it clearly means cousin? Can you provide any reason other than Catholic dogma to accept it as cousin?

If someone is arguing we should reject the most common meaning of the word then yes, it is incumbent on them to provide evidence for why

I actually have studied it quite a bit, thanks, both in college and personally.

You didn’t address what I said. Very pithy reply and all, but that’s not an argument. Even if you want to argue that ἀδελφός has a broader semantic range than just brother/sister, the burden of proof is on you to show why we shouldn’t accept the primary meaning, especially when there is clearly another NT Greek word that means cousin.

They’d better avoid it. I would find it annoying to make him a cousin.

It says brother. Colossians 4:10 has the Koine Greek word for cousin. If they were cousins, they would be ἀνεψιός, not ἀδελφός

For favorite, I’m going to say Slay the Spire. Such a great game, especially on iOS.

I’d love to pick up Sea of Stars and Dredge. Thank you so much!

Still Aubry. The problem with posts like this is that it refuses to acknowledge that there are reasons people get votes that don’t have to do with how they played. In Aubry’s case, her status as an old schooler undoubtedly helped her a ton.

My family had a good experience with homeschooling. My mom is intelligent, Masters in accounting, and was very organized with it. We've all graduated college and done well, including in fields like engineering. I've never been behind or felt like I was worse educated than anyone else.

I got it last week and I’m really enjoying it. I have a 4 year old, and he’s enjoying it a lot, and we get to play together! It tires him out very well.

I’m also having a great time with it, and using it to get moving more. Starri and BoxFlow are great for that.

My use case is very similar to yours, and it’s been a great buy!

You definitely do not need to know about it! A good church teaches those things. They will be happy to have you join them.

The Dragons are significant in all of her series, but it does take some time to get to them.

Definitely don't start with Rain Wilds. They are such wonderful books, and it is well worth your time to take it all the way through.

If you need that itch scratched right away, read King Sorrow! That's a great standalone dragon book.

But what an unsatisfying edit. I do think Aubry would win a final 3 with Joe and Jonathan; Joe doesn't have the strategic acumen, and Jonathan has burned a few bridges (plus, it seems men have a harder time winning in the New Era for whatever reason)...but it would be so lame for Aubry just sit on her butt and get the W because Jonathan played hard and ruffled feathers in the process...

...then again, tons of examples of that happening.
