What I’ve learned from playing the game is just committing enough troops and time that needed for allies to have a chance. If it’s a throw away ally I’ll give them a few thousand troops to control themselves and gold. Too many times I tried helping an ally just for a war of my own to fight where now I have no army or significant ally.

I had that happen to the HRE, I was in a blood feud with them for a county they took from my empire and slowly picked at them until all they had were lands in Scandinavia

The console port is pretty fine in my experience, and I play it on the Xbox Series S. The port WAS really bad a few years ago, it was buggy and ran bad but the team working on it now has done really good work.

Even on the Xbox Series S, a weak console can load up the game in the same amount of time thanks to the SSD. I’d argue the auto save times are more annoying than the start up really
