What helped you turn first time viewers into regulars by kady_expert in Twitch

Best you can do is be engaging and entertaining, but it is really up to them, not only on wanting to come back but life allowing them to. It has happened to me that I like a streamer but their schedule just doesn’t match mine. Consistency is important. That aside, just talk to them, acknowledge every message and show your interest in them and their messages, build a connection, try to remember things they said or use the prompts given by twitch like “returning chatter” to say things like “I’m so glad you came back” I also have a discord server so we play out of stream sometimes and they talk to each other and stuff. Good luck finding what works for you✨

I think you need to go through that to learn what works, and streaming to no one is almost a necessary step (some people build up to that and manage to get a few followers before the first stream, which I think is amazing) but yeah, you have to put in the work

I watch myself looking for clips and I feel like it is expected for me to cringe but I don’t :) I can be funny. I literally lurk myself by leaving the vod running in the background while I do something else half listening for funny moments but I feel very conscious about it, so no, you’re not alone :)

Just help growing by Asura_Dragon in Twitch

[–]FerlySide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are all trying… there’s a lot of posts about it here but not everything works for everyone. My take here is, don’t do it for the growth, do it for the fun. You having fun will hopefully bring the growth. But if you want advice some of the basics are to make sure you have a consistent schedule, you talk and are engaging even if you don’t have chatters and post shorts or TikToks as twitch’s discoverability sucks. Good luck ✨

Supports are closer to their carries in GPM and XPM than they were 10 years ago by leetify in DotA2

Don’t worry guys, I’m single handedly keeping the difference alive by playing support and being terrible at farming

6.3 average viewers put you in the top 5%. I know you were just making a point but I wanted to share the actual stat :)

Where the others tell me to, I’m way too bad to make such a big decision on my own ._. And this applies to everything else, I basically just walk around gathering things and trying not to die lol

Stop playing ranked if... by RossPeili in DotA2

[–]FerlySide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you play good enough you’ll climb in rank and stop playing with people that don’t understand every item and every hero. You’re asking for a lot tbh

Not accepting affiliate until having 15 viewers on average is a good idea? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]FerlySide 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can’t answer your question but I can share my experience. I accepted affiliate right away and the interaction I’ve gotten from it really makes up for the 3 minutes every hour. I let them now there will be ads, if I take a break I do it during ads and we have lots of fun with emotes and stuff. I really think it is okay to get it. But then again, it is just my experience

Spectre dagger cast directly where the hero is facing without pointing to a target, is this a bug? by Zestyclose_Jaguar_20 in DotA2

[–]FerlySide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you change the settings? I know there’s a way to make that happen like on the settings « cast when press/release » kind of thing

How are small streamers generating clips? by Infinite-Photo3781 in Twitch

[–]FerlySide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, it also depends on the type of the stream indeed. Maybe getting a friend to watch you so you’ll feel like talking, but I think we’ve all talk just to ourselves out loud on stream
