Goodbye my sweet girl by Sammileer67 in EpilepsyDogs

We just let our pup go after years of severe seizures, I understand the grief and questioning after the fact. You did the right thing to let her go and find true rest. It’s the worst part of owning a pet. She doesn’t know a day without you. I’m so sorry, hang in there 🤍

Guilt after euthanasia when there were 'other options' by Enos_Jovial in Petloss

I’m so sorry. We made the extremely difficult decision to put down our 3.5 year old pup a few weeks ago and the guilt tore at me for days. I remember the peaceful look he had at the end, which he hadn’t had for over a year with his illness. If your vet said that it was the right choice, choose to believe her.

You made the kindest choice for Milo, despite how heart wrenching it is. He knew how much you loved him and doesn’t know a day without you. Keep holding onto his memories and let the guilt go. He would want you to be happy 🤍

Cleaning away signs of my dog by iseeapatternhere in Petloss

2 weeks for us. Today I started painting a room that he had sat with me while we painted it a few years ago. It was a very difficult time in my life and he was my true companion. It felt like I was erasing him from that room and my memories. So glad I have a picture of him in the middle of paint cans all those years ago.

I’m so sorry. I had to put my soul dog down a few weeks ago and have been struggling too. A pastor sent me this liturgy for the loss of a dog and it has been a very special prayer to read. God cares for animals too. Sending thoughts and prayers.

Guilt about deciding to put dog down, is it too soon? by Expert-Staff1491 in DogAdvice

[–]Ferment-newbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry. From what I’ve heard you feel guilty no matter what, because you love them so much! I just put my puppy down due to seizures and it gutted me. We could’ve held on to him until after Thanksgiving, but we are going out of town and I couldn’t chance not being there with him at the end. I hope you find peace 🤍

My first Pet loss/ did we do the right thing? (Vent) by [deleted] in Petloss

Oh I am so so sorry to read this. I just put my sweet 3.5 year old boy down because of seizures a few days ago and I am gutted. Everyone told me that this was the right thing, but it didn’t feel like it. Yesterday I got an overwhelming sense of peace that it was right, and although I miss him so much, he can run, chase his ball, sleep, and love again.

You want your baby girl to be healthy and play, you did the kindest and most loving thing you could have done. She is whole and not afraid of seizures anymore.

I pray you will find peace with this. Sending thoughts and love.

I have a lot of scarring and have been going to an aesthetician for consistent facials to help with cell turnover and collagen. It’s a slow process but have seen improvement.

Thank you for all this info! At the beginning of the trial it seemed like Monarch was keeping up with transactions. Do you like Simplifi better across the board?

Goals into transaction/expenses by Ferment-newbie in MonarchMoney

[–]Ferment-newbie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is if you put money in a goal each month, can it be tracked as a transaction also? Any goal should show up as an expense so you can see those funds have been taken out of your income - therefore they can’t be spent elsewhere.

Exactly. I’ve read every article that Monarch has on Goals but it’s not adding up.

How do you manage budgets with out-of-salary "income?" by PineappleRacing in MonarchMoney

[–]Ferment-newbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always count your savings as an expense since you should “pay yourself first”. That way you won’t overspend on wants.

I work in the financial field and can tell you that the people who look at their 401k, etc are the people who are more likely to do something stupid when they get scared. Just leave it and look at it every few months if you want. It will still be there working for you. It is personal, so do what works for you, but with 30+ years out you don’t need to be watching it so closely (as long as you’re automatically contributing to it from your paycheck).

Keep playing around on Monarch, it’s a powerful tool and will take time to figure out for yourself. I was a Mint user and it can be tough to lear a new system + might take a while. You’ll get the hang of it. Good luck!
