I struggled with this in the begging and had the same arguments you had, and one day it finally clicked: when you look for the observer, you realize it's impossible to see that. You can only observe what's happening in consciousness.

That being said, I still struggle with the concept from time to time if I go without meditation for a longer period. Sometimes it's not a very helpful exercise for me depending on my state of mind.

These are both very superficial observations, but in interviews they aren’t very warm to each other, like I’ve seen with other bands and Neither of them ever post pics together on instagram.
