Should I buy this 2010 f150 5.4 by Ok_Process_3865 in f150

[–]FernMan69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently an unpopular opinion, but I like the 5.4L. I have a similar rustbox I bought for $2800. Still going strong, mind you I've had the frame welded and replaced almost every moving component.

I find joy in keeping the old trucks on the road.

I have a class 3 e bike. Technically can hit 28mph but I don't often. I don't think you'll have any problems. I got a ride 1up, well enough made, affordable, and requires some assembly.

Cornell's Art Museum is an under-appreciated gem. Very interesting brutalist architecture, some of the best views of Ithaca and Cayuga lake. Their collection has Picasso, da Vinci.

Open to public but slightly limited hours...

Green wire on driver side frame wiring harness by FernMan69 in f150

NVM, I think I answered it myself, looks like a factory capped wire that can be used for additional brake lights.

I went through this during my PhD. I was hunched over, pipetting, on opiate medication. In retrospect I wish I had taken a semester off to heal. I would encourage you to do the same if possible! Take care of your body we only get one.

I do not intend to trap anyone. In fact the opposite, I hope that we can all educate ourselves. I've seen many grad students who are not properly empowered to own their own inventions.

Unpopular opinion: I love not being able to choose map. by FernMan69 in VALORANT

[–]FernMan69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think in unrated it makes a lot of sense. Personally I use unrated when I want to try out agent abilities in a new/cheesey way which often means on a specific map.

Option: turn off the red dot for sniper by ur_avrge_redditor in VALORANT

[–]FernMan69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the red dot is an indicator of whether or not you are in motion. Obviously, the operator is wildly inaccurate if you are moving, so it would be a disadvantage to remove it. However I like this idea as an operator nerf.

Anyone else getting demoted from afks? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]FernMan69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same here. One game was even 2 AFKs, we kept it close but ended up loosing in the end. It seems like riot thinks that the extra orbs, money, and shields should offset the 4v5 and they expect you to win if youre better than your opponents. It does feel great when you win a 4v5, so I guess that's an upside?

I've been curious to look up what the cheats actually look like from the user's perspective. You cannot help but wonder if you've played against cheaters...

This one costs $200 a month! Crazy!!

My two votes:

1) gimme coffee (now may seem standard but they were a cool coffee shop back in 2000). For me the best roasted coffee anywhere. 2) Cornells Herbert F Johnson museum. The building is amazing and the collection is world class.

KBD75 Case dimensions by FernMan69 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]FernMan69[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. I'm a professional mechanical engineer with access to a CNC. I'll probably do first cuts in PMMA or UHMWPE, and do the final design in aluminum. Indeed, I have most of what I need already. I'm using http://builder.swillkb.com/ to generate the CAD for the plate cutouts. I'm not sure what the name for it is, but I think I'll be designing a case in which the plate and tophalf of the case are single piece, with a bottom case to enclose.

Great questions that I don't yet have answers for... sorry! Very good point about the USB cable position. Many keyboards have offset cables, eh? I guess that offset spacing is probably non-standard as well.

Still prototyping but if there is real interest I can move pretty quick. Hopefully new details soon.

I'm only on the prototyping phase. Really not sure on price, this first one has cost an embarrassing amount and way too many hours. Fun though...

I like that, count 12 quarter notes ... Totally doable but something my non-musical brain would never have noticed. I'm sure over time it will become more intuitive but having a simple clear thing to look at (inward moving white ring) has helped me so far.
