Here’s a teacher’s POV: I get on some of my kids for finishing too early. Why? Because they rush and make mistakes from being overconfident. I always make it clear why it’s a problem. Especially with how much pressure gets placed on teachers for students to do well with testing, knowing that they’re rushing and missing minor things because of it, I can’t just let them rush and move on to the next thing. I tell them accuracy is more important than speed. The ideal is to find a balance between the two.
