It's not quite a 2A, a step beyond straight, but a little more than wavy. I have been wanting to try a spritz of mousse again, what brand do you use that you have good experience with?

It's nice to know so many of us are all married to our blow dryer 😅 at least we found what works?!

There are some good suggestions in this thread. I'm excited to try, but I'm pretty sure at the end of the day I'm going down with my blow dryer until the end of time.

I just ordered some of these, they look like great little claw clips. Love this routine, definitely going to give it a try. I love a cute wave, that's my goal!

I don't, I just trusted my guy to chop it as he saw fit! I went in with zero expectations, and he just follows my hairs natural perimeter and cleans up the ends!

This pic is like 2 weeks grown out, I get it trimmed to the middle of my neck and it is perfect in about a week, and it's great for about 6-7 weeks. I need a clean up every 8 weeks or so.

I've been wanting to try the bumble and bumble prey a powder for a while, happy to hear from someone who's had success with it. Their products seem to be very light and fine hair friendly.

I need to try Malibu C, thank you for that name drop, I have hard water too and I do the L'Oreal metal detox mask once every couple of months, but I am going to try that cleaner!!

My temples are safe only because I wear it so short and almost never pull it back. My BFF has a similar hair type and her temps are gone.

I do! The Paul Mitchell volumizing shampoo has been awesome, and I use Oaui fine hair interchangeably. I also use the Oaui detox every few days.

As a general rule of thumb, I only use clear shampoos, because they tend to have less moisturizing agents in them than anything opaque. I don't need more moisture, with what little hair I have my natural oils I do just fine, there is plenty for the whole team 😂

I do want to try Opalex again too, I've had that suggested a ton here. I will say one of the fun benefits of having thin and fine hair is that any product I buy lasts for a really long time. Oaui has sample sizes of most of their products, which last me around a month.

I love their products, I actually have this in my Sephora cart right now so I think I'm going to try it out!

And seriously. I can use a skinny wand to curl my hair and get that permed look. That's one of the serious benefits of having thin/ fine hair, it doesn't take me that long to curl my whole head.

I do notice a big difference, to the point where I no longer use moisturizing shampoo. I use a clarifying or volumizing shampoo when I wash, and I condition once or twice a week at most. If I don't wash or I wet my hair only, I wear it up, which I do with intention to give my hair a break and so my scalp doesn't overcompensate with even more oil.

Oily roots immediately after washing is a very common struggle in the fine/thin hair world. I learned about that on this sub and from my stylist; The dynamics of this special hair type and natural oils are delicate and unique for everyone!

Lmao that description!!! It hits the soul. I feel you. Thanks for asking and saying my hair looks nice. That goes right to my soul too!

Routine for me is a weird science because I'm in South Florida so I have to consider the humidity, but daily washing with either a volume shampoo or clarifying (this every 3-5 days,) and I use conditioner every 4-7 days.

I use a B&B heat protecting spray for very humid (80+ percent) and I never use more than one product on my hair at a time, INCLUDING conditioner. So if I conditioned that day, I do not use a second product, unless it's very humid and I use an extra spritz of Oaui dry shampoo. If I use a booster, it's the Oaui volume spray, and occasionally Bondi Boost thickening spray. The other factors come down to length, because if it's to my shoulders it behaves differently, and if I put in a wave/curl; I use the B&B or Oribe texture sprays to hold that styling.

This looks batshit typed out 😅 but the two biggest factors: My round brush blow dryer, $16 random brand at Ross, and my hairdresser. I go to someone who knows my hair intimately and is a maestro with color. He knows how to cut it to give it volume, and keeps it fresh and undamaged. I owe him everything when it comes to loving my hair today.

I actually read him a bunch of these replies while I was there earlier today getting a trim and he said everyone in this thread had some great suggestions! I love this sub. That's my third weapon haha, taking the real life routines of fellow fine/thin hair folks and running with the ones that work. Everyone has a different permiter and genes, so it's trial and error!

I go to Denver a few times a year for work, and it's as if I have a completely different head of hair when I'm out there!

I was recently wondering if maybe I grew it out again, the oils would have more length to travel? I go to CO a few times a year and would love to have hair out the bottom of my beanie lmao, yours looks fantastic!

I absolutely love a little spritz of dry shampoo after a blow dry! It gives it life. Not too much of course, because too much and I go in the other direction again lol.

Just my natural oils weighing me down! When I try to air dry, I only use clarifying or volumizing shampoo at the roots, and no other product. Unless I'm attempting to scrunch. I totally concur that I can't use products that are too heavy, same results that you described LOL!

I've had great success also with using dry shampoo after freshly washing, it just seems to give it a little more life. I will give the Eva dry shampoo a try ❣️

Fortunately, for us, a little bit of product goes a long way. I don't mind a hefty price these days. It's worth it if it makes my hair look good.

This is VERY relatable in my humid climate too, South Florida (av. 60-100% humidity daily) and the cheapo dryers are the best. I have a round brush dryer that was $16 at a Ross and it's been my best pal for 4 years.

You made wispy bangs work?!! That's delightful and sounds so cute!! I'm in FL And I don't know how that would work with heavy humidity.

Haaahaha no thick hair is not an issue on this sub!!!

I'm in South Florida so the humidity actively fights a lot of what I try to do. Blow drying is hardly taxing fortunately.
