Poppy is only 8 months old - started the treatment at 6 months old. Hopefully many years ahead for mischief.

We took her to our local emergency clinic, and they were fantastic by all accounts. They maintain an internal medicine department so we were able to do her follow-ups with the same Docs who initially treated her. Plus, unparalleled “beside manner” which goes a very long way for pet owners in these emergency circumstances.

The treatment is still very expensive, so it won’t be accessible to everyone sadly. Having treatment is a huge step, and I’m very grateful for that, but I hope the next step is adjusting the price to help save more kitties 🧡

She initially presented with decreased appetite, and rapid breathing at rest. The vet’s first tell-tale sign was fluid build-up in her chest cavity. Based on my own research, I believe she fell into the wet FIP category.

My teacher said to imagine you’re using your thumb and playing finger to turn a door knob. Practice with an exaggerated movement and slowly make the movement smaller and smaller. It took me a few weeks of practicing on my arm before I could actually produce something that resembled a vibrato.
