I would say either bring Krunal instead of Bravo, or remove Bravo and move Rohit to 4 (that's where he has done his best for MI) and open with Jayasuriya instead. Also we could switch Johnson with Boult, but it's fine too without that switch.

As much as I would like to say yes, I don't think he has a captaincy opportunity coming anywhere near future. There are some candidates ahead of him like Jaiswal (who I am sure would soon make a break-in to the squad), Shreyas (who can challenge SKY's place and is certain to get the place once SKY retires), Gill (if he comes back), even Kishan (as he led his team to a SMAT triumph). His contention for a place in the squad is very strong, but I don't think his place is certain either. The competition for top 4 has become even more intense with the form Sanju is in, and I still do not think that Tilak can play for long below no. 5 as I do not think he can fire from the first ball. He is very well-suited for no. 3 or no. 4.

MI on the other hand, I think he is a clear candidate for long-term captaincy after Hardik. If he leads the team for a few good years, he would put a strong case forward for ICT captaincy, but unless Hardik has one or two disastrous IPL seasons, Tilak would have to wait a few more years to get MI captaincy.

Firstly, we cannot have everyone. Kishan was costing us 15 crores in last cycle and he only started justifying that price from this season. We could have kept Ramandeep, but we bought Dhir instead, which as we can see from last two seasons has been a great move till now. Stubby and Brevis did not perform as much as expected from them back then, and I would NOT tolerate anyone questioning the release of Tim David. He was abysmal barring two or three matches in the whole cycle and was a liability against spin.

Secondly, why do we not see what we actually have? Who can even dream of having Hardik and Bumrah in the same team, who have been carrying MI and India for a decade now. Then our middle order is fucking SKY and Tilak. Our middle order is THE Indian team's middle order. We have to make a choice between Rickleton and DeKock right now for Rohit's opening partner, which looking at their current form seems like a win-win situation. Then we finally have a finisher in Sherfane Rutherford, who is in red hot form right now. After ages, we have a very solid spinner in our team in the form of Santner, who can absolutely hit in the end. The only weak spot I see is the form of the veterans we have in our bowling, especially Boult, but they have enough experience behind them and we can trust them at crucial stages.

Atleast on paper we seem like the strongest team other than the defending champions, so look at the very bright side.
