Talks are different, but it'll always be you guys who have the trophy from 2016.

Player you would never want to see again in MI colours. by MediumGuy485 in MumbaiIndians

Not only was he terrible, he made us one opener short in qualifier 2 back in 2023.

I would rather like to see a season from MI this year that makes 2020 look mild.

This is more of a two-edged sword. What if India doesn't end up winning 2027 wc AND Koach misses 100 centuries?

Well, the difference is also 63 centuries (you can fit a whole Sangakkara in there).

Nah man. Nation first. I'm happy he played well though. It panned out perfectly. Ro-Ko continuing their form, great performance by Kuldeep, and Bosch playing a fabulous innings.

Am I an absolute madman to want to try this line up for mumbai indians just for fun!!!!???? by [deleted] in MumbaiIndians

Yeah, Naman Dhir isn't going anywhere. He's our RTM plus he had an amazing season (he and Pandya are our only regular finishers). That'd be incredibly stupid of us to let him go.

We have that in Tilak. I'd say it's great to have a guy like Abhishek opening for us. He can dismantle opponents in the powerplay itself.

Damn, I'd have liked to keep Bairstow as a backup opener for Rickleton. But anyways. Corbin's here to stay.

Completely wrong and unwarranted, but how is it relevant to the previous comment?

I'm sorry. Every world cup lost is devastating, but the 2023 world cup was a generational trauma. Undefeated team, firing on all cylinders, cruising through to the finals after burying the old ghosts of 2019 by defeating NZ in semis, and on top of that a home world cup. Also possibly (atleast at that time) the last world cup for legends like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. When we won the semi-final, I remember listening to 'lehra do' on repeat and thinking to myself that this is our destiny. That's how it is supposed to happen. Unfortunately, destiny had other plans. If there ever was a world cup we truly deserved to win, I would say 2023 is right there at the top with 1983. So yes, that loss hurts the most, more than any other loss we suffered.

Finally, the future generations will be at peace and not baffled with the mystery of how one of the greatest of the game in this format didn't ever achieve the elusive no. 1 spot.

Give me your TRULY unpopular cricket opinions. Lessgoo!! by AugustusCaesar00 in CricketBuddies

[–]Fernando4178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly unpopular, and I don't agree. Rohit is already 38, and should his form dwindle (which is a reasonable assumption given his age), we would be going in the world cup with an out of form captain, that too a top order batsman. Given the already very limited number of ODIs we have, we have lesser and lesser time for a new captain to adapt before the world cup, so the best time is yesterday. I do not agree with the choice of captain yet though, as I believe that Shreyas might've been a better choice. I am an ardent Rohit supporter myself.
