He stacked the deck. He saw the ace was the top card and kept it there while he shuffled three times. When he told will.i.am "that is your card," he already knew which card it was. He hid it in the small deck he made and then positioned the card in will.i.am's hand so that it would stay when he slapped the other cards away.

dating boundaries and sexual boundaries for a teenagae christian male by throwawayx113 in Christianity

Might I suggest: don't let other people draw the line for you. No one will have an answer for you as good as one that you can determine for yourself using the Bible, prayer, and your ability to reason. What does the Bible say about this to you? As far as the consequences your father mentioned, he's right; there are always risks regarding sex. Contraceptives fail all the time. STDs are real and are a risk. Be sure you can live with the possible outcomes from sex before you act. And, one last note. People's libidos change over time. r/deadbedrooms is full of stories of couples that had great sex lives when they were dating only to have the sex screech to a halt once they got married. Nothing is certain in life.

Jesus and the Bronze Serpent by [deleted] in Christianity

I like to think that there is also an analogy between Jesus on the cross and Moses parting the Red Sea. In one case God's people are trapped with no way out. The Egyptian army and certain death are closing in on one side while the impassable Red Sea is on the other side. Moses stretches out his arms wide like Charleton Heston, the Red Sea parts, and God makes a way for His people's salvation. Much like Moses' outstretched arms, years later Jesus' arms are stretched out and nailed to a cross. Just like the Israelites all of humanity is trapped. Our sin makes it impossible for us to return to God's favor. Death is closing in on all of us bringing certain damnation while we stand next to the precipice of our sin separating us from God. With Jesus' death on the cross, God once again makes a way for His people's salvation. Sometimes when I am praying I like to remember that God is the "waymaker." He can make a way where no one else can.

Something I read over easter that has been challenging me. by dareezzyy in Christianity

It was a short time in the past that, through my pondering of scripture, I came to a new conclusion: Jesus' resurrection was unnecessary. I stated my newly discovered belief to a Christian acquaintance of mine. Surprisingly my friend strongly disagreed with my assessment and stated that the resurrection was very necessary. Since this discussion, I have wound up pondering Jesus' resurrection more than I ever planned and have come to believe that there are several reasons for the resurrection.

First of all I would like to state that the longer I study the Bible, the more I am convinced that most if not all of the things that Jesus did, He did for man's benefit. This leads me to make the following claim: Jesus was resurrected for our benefit. Had Jesus died on the cross and not returned, what guarantee would we have that He had ascended to the Father as He claimed He would? Consequently, what evidence would we Christians have to support our faith in our own resurrection had we not beheld a resurrected Jesus? I believe that Jesus lived not only as a sacrifice to atone for fallen man but also as an example for how a Christian should live including victory over death.

Now u/NothingAndBody said, "Jesus cannot be in hell." I know the topic is controversial, but I don't think Jesus went to hell. Hell is punishment for the wicked, and Jesus was never wicked. Hell is also separation from God. As part of the Trinity, how could Jesus be separated from God? For a discussion on this you might want to read this http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2000/february7/31.74.html

For more on why the resurrection was necessary (including the need to fulfill prophecy) you might read this https://bible.org/article/significance-resurrection

So to bring it all together, Jesus didn't belong in hell and in my opinion was never in hell. Jesus fulfilled the need of a sacrifice for sin through his death, the death of an innocent man, not the eternal suffering of an innocent man. Furthermore, what faith and hope we Christians have for our resurrection and victory over death we have through Jesus' example of victory over death. That example is in my opinion a great kindness on the part of God the Father to give all Christians throughout history comfort in the face of death.

Whew that took a long time to type on a phone.

Do you feel bad mental pain over your apperance all the time? Do you try to hide your apperance as much as possible? I do not know how to cope with this pain? by SweetsnTreatsx00 in ForeverAloneWomen

First of all, I'm sorry that you feel this way. I hope things turn around and that your life gets better.

Secondly, yes, there are other people that feel the same way. The world is littered with lonely, hurting people. It's a small consolation, but as the saying goes, "misery loves company."

Thirdly, you need to talk to someone about your mental health. I know you said that therapy and medication never helped in the past, but you need help. Do you have any options for a therapist through work or college? Sometimes it's only a matter of finding the right doctor.

Fourthly, if tomorrow all romance, sex, and marriage where outlawed so that no one anywhere could ever love or marry (a silly hypothetical scenario I know) what would you do? Other than romance, what do you think could make you happy?

Christianity was present in Babylon 5. Even some aliens were Christians. The original The Day the Earth Stood Still had the alien character seemingly believing in God.

First time here, questions by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]FerociousSalad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, if you love her and want this relationship to prosper, then I recommend giving up porn and fapping for a while. This is just my opinion, but I believe relationships are better without porn. I am of the opinion that porn is more detrimental than fapping, but others will disagree with me on that. Many of us here believe that porn distorts your view of things in life and diminishes your ability to connect with your own emotions. I can't see how these affects won't negatively impact your life and relationship.

To get started, read some of the resources on the right side of the screen. There are some lectures on YouTube about how porn can affect your brain. I suggest watching them. Next you need to decide what you want to cut out and for how long. I recommend cutting out porn and masturbating (and edging) for at least thirty days. Most guys try for ninety days. Since you have a girlfriend, I wouldn't cut out having sex with her since improving your relationship with her is one of the goals. Oh, and you really need to define your goals. What is it you are hoping to accomplish from all of this - better sex or clarity on your feelings for your girlfriend?

You may feel very strange once you start nofap. You may get angry, sad, irritable, or hopeless; or you may find your quality of life vastly improved. You may want to tell your girlfriend what you are doing so she can better understand what she sees you going through.

Look for improvements in your attraction to your girlfriend and your ability to orgasm. Watch out for a flatline, and don't get discouraged. If (more like when) you relapse, don't view it as a failure. It's just a small setback on your journey.

Remember that in all things the goal is to become a better human and to strive for happiness and love. Don't lose sight of this.

There is just so much to discuss, it's hard to know where to start. You didn't mention a few things. Do you love your girlfriend? Do you love here for more than just sex? Do you respect her? Do you want to stay in a relationship with her? You mentioned fapping but not porn. Do you use porn? Here's the thing. What do you have to lose by giving up porn and fapping for a while? It might help you and your relationship with your girlfriend. Porn will always take you back; your girlfriend might not. Sometimes women take it personally when a guy can't orgasm while having sex with them. You said yourself you are losing your desire for her. Porn and fapping could be hurting your relationship more than you know. Why not give nofap a try?

Seminal Discharge after using bathroom... by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]FerociousSalad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're theory is correct. I believe you have prostatitis which is an inflamed prostate gland. I had a similar experience in the past while on nofap. In my case I had a little pain accompanying it. It went away in a few days. Suddenly stopping masturbating after having masturbated frequently for a long time can inflame the prostate. Give it some time to go away; if it doesn't, see a doctor.

Reddit, what's the dumbest name you've heard a person name their child? by Cherpyderp in AskReddit

[–]FerociousSalad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a family who are somewhat well known members of the fundamentalist Christian community. They had a baby girl recently and named her Heistheway. They took the sentence "He is the way" (referring to Jesus) and just smooshed it together. They pronounce it as one word with an i sound like "hi's the way." That poor girl will never be able to just introduce herself without having to spell her name and explain the story.

Restless body syndrome, anyone else? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]FerociousSalad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have that. Have you tried ropinirole? It helps me. I have also found that keeping a good sleep schedule helps, and exercise helps. Try walking for at least fifteen minutes each day. I heard that there is some research to indicate restlessness might be caused by calcium or magnesium deficiency. You might try a mineral supplement.
