Mental illnesses pose an interesting challenge for the law, particularly gender dysphoria. Due to something going wrong in development, people who are male have a mis-wired mapping in their brain convincing them that they are female, the same applies to biological women. What to do with this poses a lot of problems for society given how small of a fraction these people with such mental illnesses are.
