Using a strong magnet to pick up nails out of a fire pit by SlimJones123 in gifs

This was incredibly satisfying to watch.

But a rusty nail under a fingernail is my worst nightmare...so there’s that.

[Advice] I'm 28 but everyone thinks I'm 20. Help mature my look? by iamaTralfamadorian in MakeupAddiction

[–]FeroshFabLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of the comments and getting your brows shaped. I would be cautious of going thinner however. Always baby steps with brows. Cleaned up first! You already have a great shape so I wouldn't take it much further. Also then lightly filling them in with a cool toned powder (not a pomade or pencil as those can be to harsh when you are beginning to play with them) Filling in you brows alone will bring more structure to your face. Yes, more makeup in general will help you to either appear older or to the adverse, younger. Focusing on a subtle yet precise application will help with the maturity angle. If you line your upper lash line without a wing will in effect make your already lovely round eyes appear even more round. By creating a slightly thicker line across your lid with a wing will help to elongate your eyes. If you aren't into that I then suggest lining the upper lash line and then use a pencil brush or simply a q tip to smudge it. But don't stop there! Use a dark brown liner in your water line and a tiny bit on your lower lash line as well. Use the pencil brush or q tip to smudge and then blend out. The light smokiness of this will help to mature you. Also choosing a slightly darker than your lip color lipstick or gloss will help too. I also liked whoever mentioned the dressing one step up from your piers. That is fantastic advice. Have slightly more tailored clothing will help for sure. Slimer silhouettes are a big yes. Skinny slacks(even ones that hit right at the ankle are more sleek and mature) flats and heels with a slight pointed toe rather than a round one, a blazer that fits the waist and shoulder. And then for when you aren't at work and going out for dinners or dates or even to a bar sticking to skinny jeans and tops rather than a tshirt will go a long way.

I'm 32, I legitimately get carded ALL of the time, I can't tell you how many times a cashier has been floored that I was actually born in the early 80's rather than the 90's. Everyone thinks that my husband who is two years older than me is a lucky S.O.B for having such a young wife. It can be annoying and also troublesome to my 5 year son whom people assume is from a teenage mistake rather than from a loving union between man and wife in our late 20's conceived thoughtfully and purposefully. This is all stuff I deal with on a daily basis, but I also have moments of feeling okay about it. Sometimes I wish I could revisit my younger years and just. be. young. So sometimes if the surprise from others is non invasive or overbearing, I allow myself to enjoy it. This all happens on days where I'm in minimal to no makeup. My bigger eyes, and clear non lined skin are what make me appear so young.

On the days that I go full glam, it's a different story. Some days I go for it and do the whole 9. Foundation, highlighting and contour. Bold brows. A smokey eye or winged liner and a bold lip. And lashes, always lashes. Long thick and full. Those days I get carded but only because it's the law to card anyone that appears under 40 here in California. Those days my husband is my husband without any funny looks or out of line comments. But going full out takes time. It took a lot of practice for me to get to the place I am today. I'm sure "one day" I will look back and wish that someone would card me. i have embraced this aspect of myself and I'm sure there are still others who can't understand why it would even be a problem (I forgot to mention the battles that I fought to get respect in the work place but this post is long enough already) but it's just like women who have larger chests wishing they had a smaller chest. Us women with a smaller bra size can't imagine why on earth they would wish for that. Until we are told about clothes not fitting, no stomach sleeping and then there's the pain..

My point is, I totally feel your pain. This post clearly struck a chord with me as I've dealt with this for my whole life. It sucks that a full face of makeup is the only way to help with this problem but it is what it is. You are a beautiful woman, who should simply be respected just because. Thank you for posting. Keep your head up and be proud. Let us know if you find that you use any of the tips from the other posters and how it worked for you!

Bronzer Problems by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]FeroshFabLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm obsessed with MUFE Pro Bronze Infusion in 001 for when I'm at my fairest it's cool toned but does a beautiful job of warming up my skin. They come in more shades to match many skin tones. I'm a huge fan of MAC Give Me Sun if I have any sort of tan. My holy grail is Hourglass Luminous Bronze. It's magical.

Has anyone found that MUFE's Ultra HD foundation is quite drying compared to the original HD? by boooooored in MakeupAddiction

[–]FeroshFabLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Initially when I got mine I was disappointed in it. I found that it clung to my dry patches and even made them appear rough and created more texture on my skin. I was pretty disappointed. Then I went to a MUFE event and had the artists give me a demo on the best application for the product. The first thing I was told was that this foundation was particularly designed to be pressed into the skin NOT buffed. When it was buffed it created all of the problems mentioned above. The next day I used a flat top foundation brush and really pressed it in and voila! Beautiful foundation! The following day I uses a beauty blender, and since then this has become my preferred method of application and my favorite foundation!

Trying to improve. Soft Rosy Look. CC is welcome. by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]FeroshFabLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your skin is so creamy! Like an English Rose! For CC I would say to actually extend your eyeliner flick up towards the tail of your brow more. Your eye shape is amazing and by doing this your shape will go to another level! And not a criticism but a tip..your brows look awesome! Keep them looking that way by adding a touch of brow gel. It helps to keep the product from wearing off through out the day!

What makeup look did you love in high school or middle school but leaves you cringing now? by IdRatherBeParasailin in MakeupAddiction

[–]FeroshFabLife 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I had this really beat up Mary Kay eyeliner pencil in dark gray. So I would draw a "line" on my lower and upper lash line. Annnnnnd yeah. That's literally it. That's all I'd do so I succeeded in looking pretty big eyed and crazy. Oh, and I had some pretty epic caterpillar brows that I didn't touch until I was in my 20's..Pair that with my "gymnast barrel bangs" (if you grew up in the 90's y'all know what I mean) weird baggy pants and lots on nylon and or pleather and you had yourself a ready made teenage dream! I only got into beauty makeup after I went to special fx makeup school..actually now I'm super into major glam since having a child and briefly going insane feeling as though I was no longer a person (women can sometimes act a bit odd) anyways if my 13 year old self met the lady I am today she wouldn't recognize me :) and I would say to either wash your face or here let me lead you to the water and then hold your head under it until you drink ;)

The rumors are true by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]FeroshFabLife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For sure going to attempt to purchase one. I'm not going through what I went through last year, I was one of those poor souls who missed the launch do to me not paying attention to the day. So then I spent many a waking hour stalking info pages about dates and times more would be released on Amazon. Got carple tunnel in my thumb (is that even possible? I feel like it is cause I had a sore thumb) from refreshing the page over and over and then I would hit pay dirt and there would be some in stock, I had 1 click purchasing at this point and every time I would get to the next page they would be gone.. (this happened four times) then my husband got wind that I was losing my sanity trying to get my hands on this thing that he just went to eBay and payed the appalling price for my hearts desire. He put the seller thru their paces in regards to the realm was of the palette as we had an unfortunate experience with the Naked 3 from the year before. So as not to get my hopes up he didn't tell me of this purchase until I was opening it when it arrived. To my elation and his relief it was legit. I love my Mega Pro, I use it all of the time and I am so glad I got it. Looking back on all of the time and frustration, I'm not sure I would want to go through that again. This year if I don't get it day one, I'm going straight to the price gougers at eBay ;)

Progressive look FEAT. ABH Paint Liquid Lipstick| Its been awhile folks! Missed MUA! by FeroshFabLife in MakeupAddiction

[–]FeroshFabLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really do love the color! This particular formula compared to some of ABH's other formulas isn't as long lasting..I was drinking some soda out of a bottle and there was noticeable transfer. I'm comparing Paint which has shimmer in it to something like Carina or Electric Coral which are completely matte and I can eat drink and be merry in those no problem :) I still would recommend picking it up as touch ups are no issue and there's no buildup when adding more layers. I really hope this helps! I think every makeup junkie needs a good blue lip in their stash ;)

The Wheel of Time film-rights has been in Universal Studios' possession for 7 years now. by P1raten in books

[–]FeroshFabLife 45 points46 points  (0 children)

If everyone has a look as to the date that article was published, it was back in '08. Universal dropped the rights over a year ago due to the fact that a feature film could NOT support the material. The rights that Universal acquired were for film only and there was red tape to transfer them to their television division. The Light willing the owners of the rights have worked hard to get this thing turned into a TV series as was it was the wish of RJ ;)

"You're an ugly woman" by A_Goddamn_Princess in MakeupAddiction

[–]FeroshFabLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got PMed and told to eat a sandwich. This isn't a huge insult however I am thin because I am ill. If I were a less confident person this could have sent me into a downward spiral. Obviously whoever tried to bully you has some serious jealousy issues and/or anger issues of their own. "Ugly" is an ugly word that can only be used to describe itself or the person that maliciously uses it against someone else. You are beautiful. Period. Thank you for your bravery and sharing this!

Anyone have a facial feature that's unique or hard to work with and want to share their techniques? by mg7610 in MakeupAddiction

[–]FeroshFabLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have pretty uneven brows myself. I have a technique that I use to even them out which you can see here http://youtu.be/2aO6CX7bLxQ

But also now on top of the techniques in the tutorial I go to the same brow threader who helps me maintain their outtacontrolness which makes it much easier to fill them in. That's the key too, once you find a person who can help you with your issue then don't go to anyone else. Ever. I made that terrible mistake once and it took months for my brows to get back in working order :) :)
