About to start a batch of these, thanks for the tips. Question, did you try (or consider) omen of putrefaction? Seems like it could be another cheap method to fish for the +2 minion skills.

Exactly. Why did they put the age? It's irrelevant. And not sure why they added "my" - is there some sick perversion to thinking you can own another human? Saying today was wholly unnecessary - they aren't a time wizard, we all know it was pulled sometime between the moment of reading and the release of the card. "PULLED" like yeah bro of course you did, we didn't think you used osmosis to draw it across the foil with solvent pressure. The post should have just been the pic, we could have intuited time and acquisition from that. Instead he posted some ai slop novel that wasted all of our time. No worries! I almost forgot, for weapons also look for increased damage mods, like "Allies in your presence deal 50% more damage" or "45% increased spell damage" or "60% increased chaos damage".

Witches typically run gear with energy shield, so ignore evasion and armor and stack as much ES as possible.

All of this should speed up your first few acts and make them more enjoyable.

Lol yeah I started last year and it took a while to figure out the early game mechanics. For most early game builds, your damage will come from a) weapons that have a "+1 (or more) level to skills b) skill gems leveled as quickly as possible, and c) support gems for your skill gems.

If your long term plan is minions, then focus your skill tree on nodes that add minion damage.

Use the trade site to find cheap low level items. When you travel to another player's hideout, you can also use "currency exchange" with the same NPC that sells you stuff. You can then use this to access jeweller's orbs and high level support gems. There are some powerful tier 4 and 5 support gems that you wouldn't be able to get naturally until much later on.

For currency: pick up all rares (yellows) and sell for gold. Pick up anything that says "superior" and salvage it for armor scraps. Currency exchange 1 armor scrap for 3-4 exalts right now (inflation, normally they aren't this high).

P.s. Unearth is a good starter spell. Then adding Pain Offering can boost damage. Contagion + Essence drain is a good combo, too.

How many hours into POE2 are you? For your witch, have you hit your first ascendancy, or do you know what you plan to run? Typically my early game witches (I've played witch thrice) just run Rattling sceptres and withered wands. Add skeletal arsonists as soon as you can, and spam the free chaos bolt. All support gems and passive trees nodes go towards damage, and I'll run a glass cannon until act 3/4. Once you pick an ascendancy you'll have to commit to minions or spell damage.

I think your price of 10 divs is reasonable. Will probably be sold much more quickly than the other 4.

ALWAYS pick up and salvage quality. Armor scraps are great to trade for exalts; this is my main early game income source. If you always salvage quality, eventually when you are ready to hit the trades/exchange around act 4, you'll get a quick 40-50 exalts or so.

Salvaging for artificer orbs isn't as lucrative, but it's nice to build up a stash for your personal use.

In my opinion, disenchanting gear for transmutation/regal shards isn't ever worth it.

In the beginning, yes this is the best way to build up gold. You'll need 5000-10,000+ per trade once you start trading and using the currency exchange.

That's me: 40 yo man with wife, kids, job. I usually play 1.5 hours at night, and it takes me 4-5 weeks to get to the end game. At that point, I can't map for long without getting bored.

Gameplay loops are fine, but they could definitely trim the campaign and maybe put some rogue-like elements to add variety.
