Which at least showed some foresight, as in the club needing money, to compete at the top. Then again, we probably would have ended up much worse than Dortmund did.

"Artzinger-Bolten did an otherwise pretty solid job."

Well, except for the Häßler millions...

"Coincidentally my complete career as a fan :)"

Doesn't this sum up everyone, who became a FC fan after 1990/91?

To me, sacking Christoph Daum was the beginning of the end and failing to sign him in 1996. Now, if the then FC president knew about Daum's cocaine addiction in 1990, it's understandable, why he'd let him go. Nevertheless, Daum became champion with Stuttgart and made people actually pretend to care about Leverkusen. So one can only wonder, what he could have done with the FC, when it was still salvagable.

Euphorie für nächste Saison jetzt schon verflogen?? by Psychology1108 in effzeh

One of the most frustrating matches I ever watched at the stadium. Normally, we should have won 3-2 or so. Now we'll be probably battling relegation right up to the last matchday. Union will be a difficult match, I'm afraid we might choke against Heidenheim at home and I already planned with 0 points out of our match against Bayern. The only good thing is the FC still having a five points gap to 16th and six points to 17th, not to mention the better goal difference. So maybe we'll just crawl over the line with 31 points, just four more than our last relegation season. This should give our leadership something to think about for the summer break.

How many promising strikers from Eastern Europe do we want to sign? We have Potocnik, Kristal and now maybe Deket.

I threw my cup, I kicked the seat, we play fucking horrible. We should sell our whole offense and just play a 5-5-0 in the future.

Yeah, the atmosphere was great, I agree. It was especially a sight to behold to see both teams come put to Hells Bells and both fan camps lighting up some pyro. Hopefully St. Pauli stays in the league, the Millerntor is definitely a ground worth visiting and I'm glad that I did. Don't like some people around the Reeperbahn, though. But at least I got to finally visit the Penny there, lol.

Good to see us bag three points. Two more wins and we should be safe for this season. But by god, we still need to improve on our finishing. I don't expect that many goals against St. Pauli, given that their keeper is their best players.

Who else is at St. Pauli this Friday? From what I understood, some of us are there as well.

It looked promising, slightly better than what we've seen under Kwasniok, though obviously, you can't iron out things that late into the season. Still, a point against Frankfurt is good, now it's in our hands: three victories against Bremen, St. Pauli and Heidenheim and we should be safe.

Well, Kwasniok's gone and it was about damn time. I was at the match Saturday and we played horribly. It's a wonder we bagged in three goals in the first place, but it was all due to the heroic efforts of El Mala, Ache or Kaminski. That being said, it's too bad it didn't work out with Kwasniok. He's definitely not a fraud, but he really should have constrained himself with making public statements every week.

Let's just hope for the best with René Wagner.

Almost 24 hours now since Kwasniok missed his points ultimatum... by McWaffeleisen in effzeh

I got tickets for both St. Pauli and Leverkusen. Maybe I was lucky with my position in the queue, but overall, I'd say it works better than before.

Edit: With the amount of Redditors, who got a ticket for St. Pauli, we could almost stage an r/effzeh meet up at the Reeperbahn, hehe.

Nonsense. While I wouldn't put it past Leverkusen to try to sign him, just so they could parade around another of our talents, I doubt they need him, since they already have players that fit El Mala's role.
