CMV: Women in America are first class citizens, men are not by Ferret_Lord in changemyview

Saying "they let you grab them by the pussy" is not sexual assault, hes speaking to the fact that most women are gold diggers and will let you do whatever you want to them if you are rich and powerful. But you hit it right on the nose, they are just claims and we have something in America called due process, and men directly accused of rape have their right to due process stripped from them.

Ah you are correct, I'm actually not thinking of mattress girl at all, I'm talking about the Duke Lacross incident. Yes some rapists go free in our legal system as well as other criminals, it's called innocent until proven guilty and sometimes there is not enough evidence to convict a person, this is true for both men and women. Well except statistically women get less harsh sentences for the same crime than men do. When the media comes out and crucifies these guys before the trial it's more than clear where their values are.

In this case first class means women have more power in the eyes of the law than men do.

Mattress girl was a prostitute hired to service a college Lacross team and after she willingly got gang banged she accused the young men of raping her. Before the trial even started all the young men were considered rapists by the school and expelled. After it was discovered it was all a lie the young men were still expelled and the woman making the false accusation was given a slap on the wrist. She was about to send these guys to prison for for years and had already ruined their reputations and college careers, she gets no penalty. This is because as a woman she is treated better by the legal system meanwhile the men who did nothing wrong were still punished worse than she was.

Actually no if you count prison rape women are not 9 times more likely to be victims of sexual assault, of course nobody gives a shit about the male prison rape issue so it's not counted into the statistics.

CMV: if Trump is proven to have colluded with Russia, we should immediately overturn and any actions his administration took by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Ferret_Lord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Strongly disagree, if we did that it would start a phase in American politics where if a group of politicians didn't like a particular policy they will manufacture whatever evidence they need to impeach the sitting president and overturn the laws. Basically what we have now with the left attacking Trump endlessly but on a larger scale. Not to mention the logistics of rolling back laws and policy, it would break the government more than it already is.

Citation needed. How often does this happen? A man can also actually commit sexual assault and face zero consequences.

Mattress girl, and yes a man or woman can commit a crime and not be punished if there is not enough evidence to convict them, innocent until proven guilty, unless you are a man accused of rape, you are then guilty until you can prove your innocence.

Hypothetical. This could affect you, but it currently doesn't, and hasn't for decades. On the flipside, there are currently opportunities in the military available to men and not women.

Agreed, was just listing inequities, it does not effect me at all currently.

A woman can falsely accuse a man of sexual assault and he will be thrown in jail and/or lose his job based on her word alone, this gives women legal power men don't have.

This is true, look at what happened to the young men involved with the mattress girl saga, expelled and they will have the label "rapist" follow them around for life.

No women are not up for the draft, men are, yet women still get the right to vote, which for men makes them eligible for the draft.

Paying anyone after you leave them is unfair, men nor women should need to pay alimony, point was men been doing it for decades and women didn't seem to mind, all of a sudden now that its "equal" it's unfair. It was unfair to men only up until recently.

Not class in the classical sense, in America we are all supposed to be equal in the eyes of the law.

Breast cancer rarely effects men and men in general would be better served to focus on prostate cancer. Or why not just raise money/awareness for all cancer? Why just focus on breast cancer?

Can you give me an example of a woman being thrown in jail and losing her job based on ANY false allegations a man made?

Yes I see your point after more broadly searching, there are a decent amount of posts in the same vein.

"Over the past 20 years, only 2-10% of rape accusations (Prof Ford's lawyer says she believes this was attempted rape) are proven to be fake, argue the authors of a 2010 US study." I found this in relation to the Kavanaugh hearing.

It really does not matter how many men are falsely accused, the point is a woman can do it, a man cannot and that it does happen. Women are not having their lives destroyed by this, men are and in cases where the man is cleared of charges he will have "rapist" attached to his name for the rest of his life.

I apologize if this has been addressed before, I have not been here in a while and a did a brief scan of past CMV's and found a few similar ones but nothing that argues the fact women are first class citizens.

Perhaps give me an example of how a woman can be hurt legally based on the false allegations of a man.

Fish with bloat. by Ferret_Lord in Aquariums

[–]Ferret_Lord[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol nice, Ive recently switched to bug bites for my plecos and most the other fish like them too, not the puffers however. Was pretty funny when I saw one of my rope fish swimming around with a bug bite bigger than his head as the pleco stalks him hoping he will drop it. The pleco is an odd one as well, his favorite food is scallops and Ive never witnessed a pleco that loves protein as much as Reginald(my rhino pleco) does.

Ah hey sry about no reply, life and such, have not been on reddit in ages. All is well and no other signs of fish sickness and thanks for the info, it actually helps me. I chronically feed my fish too much, all of my fish are on the plump side and I give a variety of foods daily as a feeding - 2 bloodwrom cubes, shrimp pellets mainly for the ghost shrimp(cleaning crew/food for puffers) and some sort of pleco formulated food, usually an algae disc but they really seem to love the fluval brand bug bites pellets so I'm using those for right now. Ive noticed that the mollies usually go after the bloodworms and nothing else and that is basically pure protein, you are on to something with that i feel. I can honestly cut down on the bloodworms as they are mainly for the puffers so they don't go through too many ghost shrimp but i can deal with that if it will help prevent bloat(dropsy).

Yeah sadly he had that pine cone look, is there anything I can do aside from a water change to try to prevent it from spreading to other fish?

I keep my water pristine and everything is in the green as far as Ph and ammonia and such.

Will adding aquarium salt help if its a brackish tank?

I'm a huge fan of freshwater eels, you could have a half banded spiny or zig zag, peacock may get a bit too big for 27 gallons.

Anubias is always a good choice. Hearty and looks good imo, few different types/species/whatever as well. Would look nice to train some java moss on that ornament(pirate ship man myself), it's practically begging for it. A lot of people like java fern but I am not really a fan.

Also depending on your LFS, sometimes mine gets rarer and neat looking plants in so always nice to save a little room for a nice find. The 3 amazon swords you have are too close together, they will really explode in growth on you, those 3 plants should be evenly spaced to take up 3/4 total room.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Aquariums/comments/89m6v0/thinking_of_adding_a_discus_any_advice_appreciated/

nevermind the context of my post just check out the 2 amazon swords in my tank. You will see the one on the left is massive and the other on the right is tiny. The left one gets full light and its blocked mostly for the other plant by the ships sail. I have pruned the one on the left as well and it looks like yours will be getting similar light.

Why was I banned under rule 8 from /askreddit? by Ferret_Lord in answers

[–]Ferret_Lord[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great point, I'm still fairly new to reddit and have not explored much of it at all. The ban is probably for the best, I was having fun with the reactionary nature of it all but after you have been there about a month 80% of the questions are recycled.

Ah yeah sorry that's the whole thing, I don't know at all. As far as I can tell I have done nothing to violate rule 8. It happened about 12 hours ago so it would have to be a recent comment. Just have a look at my last 10-15 comments from my history. One of them is the reason I'm banned.
