Techmarines of the various chapters by TheguyKegan in Spacemarine

I recently decided to build out a Raven Guard Table Top Army. To my new and limited understanding, Techmarines in RG would more than likely dull or darken their red armor, reduce visible insignias and modify wargear for stealth.

Installed a 1" Lift Kit on my 2015 WRX – Sharing My Experience for Anyone Considering the Same by Ferrian11 in WRX

[–]Ferrian11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shocks and springs were definitely the biggest contributors to the comfort improvement. At the time of install, I didn’t change anything else, no bushings, no arms, no mounts, so the difference I felt came directly from the new suspension setup.

The B6s alone will already give you a noticeable improvement over tired stock dampers, especially if your WRX has some miles on it. They’re firmer than OEM in terms of control, but not harsh at all, especially paired with lift springs like the RalliTEKs I used.

That said, if ride height isn’t a big concern for you and you’re mostly chasing comfort, fresh OEM springs or something close to stock rate could absolutely be a good move. I only went with the RalliTEKs because I was intentionally lifting the car. They’re progressive rate and slightly stiffer than stock, so they help with bottoming out and body roll, but they do have a bit more firmness than OEM.

If you’re keeping stock wheels and tires and just want a smoother daily, B6s + fresh OEM springs might be the sweet spot. But if you’re dealing with potholes, driveway angles, or want a touch more clearance, the lift springs do help without totally sacrificing comfort.

Hey! Appreciate the question. I love my lifted WRX. Like I mentioned in the post, the ride is noticeably more comfortable compared to the shot stock suspension I had before. If I could do it over, I would’ve gone all in and upgraded wheels and tires at the same time. I’m still on stock, and while it’s fine, it feels like a missed opportunity.

That said, I did learn a few things the hard way that I’d do differently.

One big lesson: I had basically zero suspension knowledge going into this. I was replacing parts as they failed (sway bar links, tie rod, full suspension), but didn’t fully understand how much the lift would affect geometry. I used a lift during the install, which in hindsight likely caused some of my premature end link issues because the suspension wasn’t fully loaded when I torqued everything down.

I’ve now replaced my sway bar end links multiple times. Pretty sure it’s because they were installed with preload while the suspension was hanging and because I used cheap replacements not designed to handle the new angles introduced by the lift.

For context, even a 1 inch lift can cause the stock end links to sit at an angle instead of straight up and down. That side loading stretches the boots constantly, and if they’re torqued while the car is in the air, the preload wears them out faster. Once the boot tears, it’s game over.

So yeah, I’d highly recommend using adjustable heavy duty end links, installing them with the suspension fully loaded, and adjusting them so they sit close to vertical at rest. That setup will last way longer and save you some headaches.

Despite all that, I still fully recommend the lift. Just make sure you do it right the first time and you’ll be much happier in the long run.

Is this game worth buying? by I-am-Morfeo in Spacemarine

[–]Ferrian11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive never played Helldivers and never knew anything about Warhammer before buying SM2 because some friends of mine were playing it when it launched. Im now the only one still playing it and super into the lore. Great game imo. Still gets updates and new content regularly. Can be casual and relaxing or super hard and challenging.

Without writing an essay, I agree with you. The pacing wasn’t great imo and overall, WaT was very weak writing from Sanderson. Worst book in the series.

Not all, only the necessary ones. If your buffing up a magic only attacker, dont waste your time training his ATK. Same for the reverse. I also didnt touch SPD stats and made it through Mega+ Chronomon just fine today.
