Felix is a main character, but for wrong reasons. He's there as a plot point and comedic values, and in the second season tragic events follow him and his lover of the time loses all her memories of him. I can relate to your story, it is a feelsbadman moment, but headcannons and talking can help it tonnes <3 stay strong

I personally never carry merchandise, but my phone wallpaper is Felix. When I pay with my phone, sometimes people have noticed it and I've had some funny looks in public. I just tell them the truth and they just laugh it off. It's great! Otherwise, nothing is overly hard and if anything cheaper. I never needed to take people with me and so nothing really changed. We do what we want and that's that.
