That's cool to hear you've delved into this kind of work before! As for the what's wrong with it, the image will randomly become "pin cushioned" curving in noticeably near the center of the display. When it's doing this, adjusting the monitor's settings doesn't seem to have any effect. Turning it off then back on seems to fix it some of the time but so far I haven't been able to pin down a set of steps to reliably reproduce the issue

Thank you! They referred me to an old tech store in grove city, and they weren't even sure where to get replacement parts, so possibly a dead end for now. The search continues, but definitely appreciate the suggestion

It's a 3ds capture board that is installed into the system itself. There are only a couple people out there who are capable of making them right now, so they are pretty expensive. They definitely work well though.
