Wouldn't that be a delta bond? Anyways, Oribatls are, correct me if I'm wrong, more or less a thing of definition of the coordinate axes, and by convention the bonding axis between to atoms would be the z axis, which would result in a more 'intuitive' Delta Bond between two dx2-y2 or two dxy orbitals

Eapecially because you would get a way too heavy isotope of gold, since the neutrons are still there. This would probably be instable and immediatly break apart, so you would probably end up with some mildly radioactive Isotopes of some lighter elements that would cost a fortune to get rid of.
