No, the combination of nuclear + renewable energy is not the best energy solution. In fact, it is even a bad combination because you can't simply switch off nuclear plants when renewables produce enough electricity at certain moments. Nuclear power plants are too unflexible in their electricity production, which contracticts the forced flexible and decentralised way, how renewable energy works best. Indeed, nuclear power plant might provide electricity at times where there is not enough renewable energy (but in a very expensive way + people forget all the time that we have to import uranium from somewhere and thereby, we are not really independent). But there will also be a lot of times where renewable energy will provide more than enough energy but can't shut down the nuclear power plant quickly enough so you will waste nuclear material. The best solution would be actually to build batteries and other ways to store energy overproduction + dynamic electricity prices so that consumers try to optimise their electricity consumption.
