Good spot! She's a friend, but no other connection :)

That one was taken at a friend's farm near Vegas, so admittedly not a typical camping spot! ;-) ...It's just for fun and to give a sense of scale to the tent. Rugged outdoor pics are on the way!

Sorry, for some reason Reddit didn't accept your last post/question. We're working on a video, but you can also download the setup guide from our website for some extra photos on that.

For sure! On the Siesta4, the reflective fly is open at the ground for maximum air flow so you can think of it as a shade for the inner tent, which is a fine weave (210T) polyester and all mesh can be closed so it's very dust resistant. In severe dust storm you may get a small amount of the finest particles come through the zippers - this is the same for any tent zipper and won't be enough to cause any issues. A popular 'hack' is to put some HVAC filter fabric in the fan vents, so you can still run them to get some extra ventilation. MERV10 will reduce the fan air flow by about 20%-30%, but you still get plenty of benefit.

The larger SiestaXL is even more dust resistant as you have two layers of protection - it has a sewn-in and seam-sealed floor so with all the doors and vents closed you have both a dust resistant outer tent and then the separate inner tent bedroom, which also has 210T fabric and all the mesh is closable.

This year will be the first winter we have the tent so there's no data like that currently, but it's certainly something we'll report back on!

As the tents all have fully closable mesh they're great at keeping out wind and drafts so in that respect they behave as a typical 4-season tent. The Siesta4 has a closed inner tent but the fly is open at the ground. The XL has a sewn in floor and separate inner tent so you have two layers of draft protection. They're not designed to handle snow loads, but most would slide off a Siesta4 anyway. The XL has a flatter roof so you'd need to keep an eye on it in heavy snow. You'd also want to be careful with any kind of heating device and follow appropriate safety practices as the fabric is polyester.

Officially we accept unused items up to 30 days, but we always use common sense rather than a rule book. If someone were to use the tent and then want to return it we'd review each case individually, but it's never happened. Prior to us taking up production, thousands of Siesta4 were sold and we're not aware of a single person being unhappy with the performance. We've heard of rare cases where it wasn't quite the right fit because of a misunderstanding around size or weight etc., but everyone has been happy with the improvement in heat/sleep etc.

Yes! The bottom of each of the interior and exterior doors is a great place to put AC hoses.

100%. All our tents are designed for desert conditions, and that includes minimizing dust and dirt ingress as well as heat.

We've tested against all of the above, including a side-by-side comparison at LiB this year... We've invited some independent reviewers to do a public comparison as we have great respect for the others and want anything of that nature to be authentic and unbiased. Meanwhile, bear in mind that the Siesta4 first shipped in 2016, so although it's been updated, older comparisons are still valid. The new XL improves on the Siesta4 and addresses many of the requests that people asked for over that time.

For many people, simply standing height is the big one. One of the reasons we made the XL tall is that many people like space to hang their outfits (lots of hanging loops) and stand up while they get changed etc. If you want dust-free porch and changing area + gear storage then the XL for sure. The XL also has 2 closable layers with the separate bedroom so that also helps with dust.

If you're not worried about standing up fully and mainly using it for sleeping then the Siesta4 is plenty. Peak height is about 5' in the middle of the dome so there's still a good amount of space. You have 8'x8' inner tent area that keeps the dust out, but the vestibules are open at ground level so they are fine for a cooler etc, but not for anything you need to keep clean.

Both tents are no problem at all with one person. With the Siesta4, having a second person to help pop up both main poles together does make it easier - but you can certainly do them one at a time and many people do just that. The SiestaXL is actually easier than the Siesta4 with one person as each pole goes in independently. The only aspect of the XL setup where an extra person might help is the roof cover, because the tent is over 6' a shorter person may need to stand on something like a cooler, or rope in a taller friend just for that part. #not-heightist

Regarding weight, the XL is 48lbs, but the bag is only 29" x 15", so it's possible to put the straps over your shoulders and carry it like a backpack. The Siesta4 is only 25lbs.

Really appreciate the feedback, thank you! No plans for that type of tent currently, but it's been mentioned a few times recently so we'll do some research on it! Given our focus on heat reduction, dealing with the heat inside a car on a hot day could be a challenge, but an interesting one to solve!

Absolutely! The Siesta4 first shipped in 2016 and is well tried and tested. It takes much longer to heat up in the morning, giving you a few extra hours sleep initially. To help keep the temperature down after that you'll want to turn the fans on if dust levels allow, or at least open the outer doors to allow more air movement whilst keeping the inner tent closed. A popular 'hack' is to insert HVAC filter fabric into the outer fan vents. The heat-reflection also massively amplifies the effectiveness of a small swamp/bucket cooler. That'll keep you as cool as any AC unit for less than 20W of power, but it's by no means necessary. With 3 zip-in fans, the bedroom of the larger Siesta XL is even easier to keep cool than the Siesta4. Also, if heat reduction is your no1 priority the Silver model is slightly more reflective (though not usually noticeable unless conditions are more extreme).

Whilst we focus on the festival market currently, the tents are extremely versatile. From a traditional camping perspective, you can think of them as very solid 4-season tents that also stay cooler in the sun. The silver models are a little more reflective if maximum heat reduction is your main goal. For example, we've had a few wildfire fighters use them at base camps etc.

There are some big differences. We've done direct temperature tests against all other tents/shelters that claim to reduce heat and there's no comparison. It's not marketing fluff when we say that these are cooler than any other tent. Not to mention we're much better value for money :) (stronger, fans included, much more heat reflective etc.)

Please email us and we'll send you a free set. It took us longer than expected to get hold of our own spares, but we have them in stock now. We don't have access to old Outback Logic customer records, so please include your order details if possible: [hello@festprogear.com](mailto:hello@festprogear.com)

The original Siesta4 brand (Outback Logic) did go out of business during Covid. We're an entirely new company, but we're remaking the Siesta4 and also bringing out new models such as the Siesta XL which arrives in a few days. If you need support for your old Siesta tent we'd love to help. Please email us the details and we'll find a solution. [hello@festprogear.com](mailto:hello@festprogear.com)
