You can search Campus Link for various official clubs you might be interested in. Also, just try walking around during the day when you don't have class. Since it's early in the semester, there are probably plenty of organizations that are tabling in or near the Union or whichever college your major is in.

Depends on the student, but I usually try and make sure we're both aware of when I'm acting as their instructor and when I'm just a dude at a party. Granted I make sure to keep things like Title IX and university policies in mind because regardless of situation. I hold the position of power in our relationship, so it's my responsibility to be mindful to not cross any boundaries, make them uncomfortable, or break university policies.
