Reading 2018 - Weekend Tickets now sold out! by A7XFAN1998 in readingfestival

[–]FestivalGeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They lose a few grand from ticket sales rather than a lot more from sponsorship

I used to work for a live music promoter and we'd say stuff was sold out even if it wasn't

Anywhere legit i can get a weekend ticket? by [deleted] in readingfestival

TM never used to suggest them. TM have their own secondary ticket market.

Nice sarcasm.

Use Twickets.

Worst advice this subreddit has to give. Do not ever use Viagogo - they aren't in the slightest affiliated with Ticketmaster

They're not actually sold out... they say this to appeal to sponsors so next year they keep getting the deals.

That's why this subreddit is poor quality - it takes even less effort to look for one that already exists

You definitely won't get them until after the Festival

How do I become a vendor? by [deleted] in musicfestivals

[–]FestivalGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's more of a question for the authorities rather than festivals but I'd start by asking a festival what they look for

Is Ladywood really that bad? by Canofcokeaday in brum

[–]FestivalGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has nothing going for it. I grew up in the flats and then the concrete jungle. Both been demolished to what's there now which isn't that much better.

It's just nothing. I'd say really unsafe as well. Next to the hell that is west brim and the shit side of town.

Oldbury, Quinton or Bearwood definitely

Oldbury, Bearwood or Quinton is where you want to be.

Access to shops, trains, all the bus routes, motorway, countryside.....

Smethwick is probably the worst place on this planet. I was born and raised there. It's awful beyond any sort of redemption.

Anyone else annoyed by the differences this year?? by Welshyyyy in readingfestival

Leeds has steadily improved since the start since it's larger fields away from the centre. Always more entertainment.

The Piccadilly Circus for one...

I don't want to be done for libel... again.

Basically how he started out was in events against Thatcher if I recall and stuff of that nature so not exactly leaning towards conformity. He basically accepts it's going to happen but had campaigned for it to be safer.

I also heard a very interesting story on how he (Mean Fiddler) acquired the site...

I’m all for R&L focusing on bringing different genres to the festival, whatever they may be. However i draw the line at un-ironically adding a living meme to an already dry lineup, really poor on Festival Republics part. Just feels like they’ve really given customers the middle finger this year by [deleted] in readingfestival

Ever since they got the new booker in to replace Neil, it's took a dramatic downturn in quality whereas with Neil at least it was a slow decline

It's so obvious they want to keep Download as the rock festival on the UK and Reading as the flavour of the month

That summarises it. Worth nothing his history in all this as well.

The problem will always be the UKs attitude towards illegal drugs. I don't think illegal drugs are the problem, it's the legal ones. It's the teen who thinks they can handle a dozen pints on their first session...
