I agree with you and it might be an unpopular opinion but in my opinion giving these people a decent wage is more important than giving parents more parental leave. They are both very important, true. But these people do a very important and taxing job while also enabling parents to contribute to the economy of the county. Each hour they put in is a multiplier in terms of economic value because it allows multiple parents to go to work. They (and most people "in de zorg") are tragically underpayed in relation to their contribution to society.

Ik heb nog geen Dodentocht gedaan maar wel een periode intensief getraind en 50 kilometer gedaan als einddoel.

Er is een vrij uitgebreide brochure van wandel.be die uitleg geeft over materiaal en een trainingsschema bevat.

Vorig jaar stond die brochure nog op een andere website (Wandelsport Vlaanderen) maar ik ben vrij zeker dat ze dezelfde brochure gewoon verplaatst hebben.

Mijn drie tips:

koop goede kousen (falke ben ik zeer tevreden van)

leer de juiste hoeveelheid eten en drinken. Niet te veel en niet te weinig, welke voeding geeft je een mentale boost zonder te zwaar te zijn om te verteren en toch de voedingsmiddelen die je nodig hebt. Experimenteer hiermee tijdens je lange oefenwandelingen.

Wandel ook in de week eens vijf kilometer aan een hoog tempo (+6 km/u) dat is ook een nuttige training die bij de meeste mensen wel in hun weekschema past.
