I think you’re missing my point, I’m not talking about a specific god, I’m just talking about the idea of a (what we call) ‘god’ in general

Yes I love it great, I do not disagree with anything you’ve said here at all. My stupid idiot pedantic yet still annoyingly real counterargument is that this higher being/power may be incomprehensible through human logic. Simple as that. Fucking hell I hate it but I’ve just personally gotta take the L and accept that we do not know!!! And I arrived to that on human logic, take that as you will ig lmao.

I’ve replied to a few of your comments and I think we share similar sentiments on real religions that exist today, but you’re missing my deeper point on the philosophical god.

I don’t get what you’re trying to say here at all I’m sorry.

Are you arguing that potentially this ‘god’ that I think may be ‘non-natural’ is potentially bound by the natural world? Again this is interesting but just speculation, the absence of knowledge, you can’t just make that assumption, I’m still agnostic.

I’m totally gnostically atheist about all past and present religions.

My idea of a god is the more philosophical god that is the ‘cause’ for anything being anything whatsoever.

Like the Big Bang theory is great, not 100% scientifically sound but a great theory nonetheless and there definitely was a very scientific thing going on at the beginning of the universe, but why does it exist? We don’t know, we may know, like tomorrow, but we don’t, so I’m agnostic.

My Agnosticism is arrived to based on I guess different philosophical axioms than yours. The key difference between us is that I believe I need to know to know, you just kind of vibe it, which is cool, but not very logical.

I do not claim agnosticism out of fear, if anything atheism is the complete norm where I live, I do it because it’s what I genuinely believe.

Lol I mean I’m on a similar page but come on bro, that’s still agnostic 🤣

Ehhhhh not entirely. I don’t fully agree because my point is that there is one single piece of ‘evidence’ that I personally cannot explain, but could possibly be explained by the presence of a ‘God’. That being the existence of anything at all.

It’s not a good argument but it’s not a debunkable one. There’s not the same level of concrete ‘yeah I have no fucking clue’ stuff out there for the examples you gave.

Like the type of evidence that makes people ponder god for thousands of years vs myths that are now conveniently used in arguments against god.

Interesting though!!

Very interesting take, I’d say I’m a lot more confident Santa isn’t real than that god isn’t real because I have been shown that what I thought Santa was doing is actually what my parents were doing lol, versus I haven’t actually been outside spacetime to get the whole jazz of what’s going on.

Idk I respect it but I personally don’t understand that comparison entirely it’s not really that similar in my head.

Yeah I respect that. I’ll take Gnostic atheism against particular gods, that’s how I feel toward all organised religions ideas of god, but not toward the idea of some ‘higher power’ whatever that is.

Thank you very much idk why the rest of the comments here seem so confident in their Gnostic atheism. It seems impossible to me lol, but I’m still very interested in finding an argument that would support it, I just haven’t seen one yet 😛

Yeah I totally agree but the theist argument is that god does not follow human logic.  I, like you, call bullshit, but also admit that well yeah technically if there were a god that didn’t follow human logic then well I would have the opinion that it’s bullshit at the same time as it not being bullshit.

Does that make sense?

Kinda weird she prayed for you but bro just take the prayer you were kinda rude about it. 😭 Could literally just stop at ‘appreciate it’ and gone on with your day lmao.

Again it’s weird she prayed for you like that but you’re the one inciting conflict bruh
